Rare pierces Posted April 5, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted April 5, 2021 Last week I featured our current DIY project showing the birch plywood sides with the maple faces of of the vanity drawers all cut and ready for assembly as well as the partially assembled carcass in the background. Final assembly and finishing of the base was pretty straightforward and even drilling the holes in the tile for the drain and faucet went smoothly. The part I was dreading was finishing the plumbing upgrade for the water source. It was not done with the rest of the project due to wrench-resistant old pipes and tight quarters under the sink area. 2½ hours of crawling, wielding a sawzall and a little plumbing magic returned the miracle of hot water to celebrate the new sink. Our bathroom wallpaper replacement project (that’s how is started) is now complete. Fast Forward Dave
zackiedawg Posted April 8, 2021 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2021 Well at the local wetlands spots, now is the time of babies. All the nesting birds that come down and gather in these small spots by the hundreds to lay their eggs together for safety have finally reaped their reward - lots of screaming chicks, hungry to be fed. This post will mostly concentrate on the various chicks and activities to keep them fed. Wood stork chicks: More wood storks, with parent watching over the nest: A female grackle, gathering as much food as she can stuff into her bill, to bring back to her nest and feed her young. She's got at least 5 bugs wedged in there: Great egret chicks - just hatched within the week: Momma great egret tending to her chicks: A grey-headed swamphen chick, trying to hide in the reeds and grass while waiting for mom to deliver some food: Two growing anhinga chicks on the right, begging mom on the left to deliver more food: Not yet joining the party - the cattle egret was still sitting on the nest - its eggs won't hatch for another few weeks:
