Silhouette

On the Silhouette the cabin sizes will be the same. There are some cabins, particularly on the slants with larger balconies. I know someone will fill you in on specific areas or cabins for balcony enhancements.

The differences between the two categories have more to do with amenities than cabins. For example Aqua class cabins have a dedicated restaurant, BLU. It serves breakfast and dinner daily. You get free admission to the Persian Gardens. The breakfast room service menu is more extensive for the Aqua class cabins. There are other goodies in Aqua but those seem to be the most appreciated.

The drawback for the Aqua class cabin on the Silhouette is location. There are some good ones to choose from but the majority are under the pool deck which can be noisy when the crew arranges the loungers and the outdoor restaurant/bar/service areas are stocked.

We haven't sailed in a Concierge class cabin since the introduction of the Aqua category. That was long before the Silhouette was built. With the new pricing structure I'm not sure Concierge is as important as it once was. There are lower priced cabins with better balconies if you can get them - they book quickly. We prefer the Aqua category because we find the cuisine and atmosphere more to our liking in Blu as opposed to the MDR.

There will be more feedback to evaluate.

Happy planning and smooth seas.

We had 1044 concierge cabin booked for our sailing 01.08.20, but of course it was cancelled. It had the larger slanted balcony. I was careful to book a cabin with cabins above and below us as I had read that there could be noise if the pool or cafeteria are above you.

We have had 1A cabins with larger balconies which are slanted as they are off the ‘hump.’

As previously stated the cabins are the same as balcony cabins- with additional "perks".  Aqua class allows you to dine in Blu.  A restaurant that has the feel of a restaurant.  However, tables are extremely close, and IMO food not great. The AQ cabins are poorly located- so it was smart of Celebrity to make some of the least desirable cabins AQ.  They get more money for cabins under the pool/gym deck.  You also get access to the Persian garden- IMO another gimmick.  We used once-  In addition, you get extra captains club points-as you do with CC class. You also get some items in your cabin.  A cold bitter tea- some aroma items- which if you have allergies, you must remove.  IMO not worth the money.  Better to consider a balcony cabin and dine in Specialty restaurants.  You can pick a much better located cabin.  Mid ship with cabins above and below-

Concierge Class- CC- has better located cabins, extra points, and a few amenities- including a special lunch on boarding.  You get priority boarding- and a CC representative to assist you with your issues.  You dine in regular MDR.  Have better towels and sheets-as you do with AQ.  You can get slanted balcony cabins with each.

Having stayed in both- Unless you need the extra points- balcony cabins are the way to go if you cannot upgrade to a sky suite.

We have cruised on Silhouette three times in AQ.  Agreeing with others that location selection isn’t ideal under the pool, we have not had noise issues on any of the trips.  If you are focused on balconies, keep in mind many of the AQ cabins do have an overhang, blocking the direct sun.  We typically avoid sitting in the sun, and enjoy the protection from rain the overhang provides.

This is the port side of Solstice however you can see the overhang on the AQ rooms covering many rooms.  Happy future travels on the Silly, it is our favorite Celebrity ship.A5D78AE0-A5B3-4FD5-8A21-2F52CF47915A.thumb.jpeg.39979113a182cb301939e5be449be560.jpeg

Thanks all for the info on the Aqua cabins; we were considering an Aqua cabin for our future cruise, but two negatives have changed our minds; 1) the overhang and 2) the location under the pool deck.  Love the Cruise Critic; great people, great info.  Happy Cruisin' !

What is the difference between concierge class on the Silhouette and AquaClass? Does either category have cabins with larger balconies?

Hi OP,

Members have already replied nicely and accurately regarding the difference between AQ and CC cabins. I really don’t have anything to add on these cabins.

But, if your main interest is a larger balcony. A Sunset Veranda (SV) cabin could be interesting for you. It’s normally priced somewhere between a regular veranda cabin and a CC cabin.

SV cabins are located completely at the back of the ship, and available on a number of decks. They offer a splendid view on the ship’s wake, however, they are distant from stairways and elevators, as well, of course, of any venues located at the front of the ship. So, quite a bit a walking to be expected. This said, they offer the largest type of balconies attributed to a non-suite cabin. An interesting alternative option.

The AQ staterooms back aft do not have the overhang as they are below the Suites above, and not located under the pool deck.  They are A2's.  There are also A2's forward under the Aqua Spa that do not have the overhang.  BTW, I like the overhang, especially in inclement weather.  If I wanted sun, I would go up to the pool.
