We are (hopefully!) cruising on Navigator out of LA for Thanksgiving. Wondering what Thanksgiving Day is like aboard? Thanks!!

We cruise out of Galveston most Thanksgivings. Dinner in the MDR has a very traditional Thanksgiving feast. Turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, Brussels sprouts, pumpkin, apple, pecan pies. Always very good.

Family, Food, Fun and Football!

Seriously, the several Thanksgiving cruises we've sailed have been fully booked and many families. The traditional turkey & trimmings dinner was offered as a choice among other selections. All three NFL football games (noon, 4 and 8pm) were available via satellite and many fans dressed in their team jerseys. Great cruise, but we boarded from ports in short driving distance from our home so no flights, under no time constraints for early departure, etc.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving cruise!

Thanks! Watching games should be great with Playmakers on board now, too. We are driving so avoiding airports, and we have teens so the “lots of kids” doesn’t bother us. We are really looking forward to it. Hopefully creating a new tradition.

Great!  Enjoy!

It was a fun sailing for us, too, without the airport and traffic worries.

We sailed on many Thanksgiving week cruises mostly out of San Juan. They always have the Turkey dinner thing but I always had the Prime Rib for dinner. I can get turkey at home for $.49 a lb. but not Prime Rib for that. We did those cruises so I could shut down my business for only 3 days, worked out well.

A few years ago we took a Thanksgiving sailing.  The “special” meal in the MDR was the worst meal we had ever had on a ship.  The turkey and ham were both inedible.  We have not eaten in a MDR since.  Other than that horrible meal, our Thanksgiving cruises have always been fun.  There are lots of families, generally, so  if you not interested in lots of children, a TD cruise may not be for you.  We continue to do TD cruises (we are scheduled to cruise on SY this year) but we do UDP now almost without exception.

We have sailed over or around Thanksgiving out of Baltimore for years.  When we first started doing these the cruise was 12 days and had few kids.  When they changed to 8 day, we started sailing the week after Thanksgiving.  This year we board on Thanksgiving day so not sure how many kids will be aboard.  Do not care as this will be our first cruise since 2019.

Yes, on Serenade and Brilliance while doing longer 10+ nite Thanksgiving Cruises they put up Xmas Decorations/Trees that Nite waking Friday to all. Only once I watched it happen week after. These longer Cruises on these 2 ships had few kids, less then 50. Can see shorter Cruises on like Oasis Class having lot more...

Lots of families with kids on board but still a great cruise! I'm doing the Harmony Thanksgiving week and I can't wait!

so are we! This is our first Thanksgiving on an RCI ship. We usually sail on Princess for Thanksgiving.

P.S. None of us care for turkey or pumpkin pies, though.
