Choosing the right shore excursion on Scenic

Doing the Rhine River on Scenic in September.

Aside from choosing the destination that interests you the most, do they divide the groups by walking pace or other factors?

Is using the Scenic app with an earpiece the standard, or are groups ever small enough that no headset is needed?

You can use the app on your own or with new friends or with your tour guide it works quite some distance away and is excellent. Youth tour director will explain the tours and you can decide which you prefer to join then there are usually three walking groups and as I take loads of photographs I usually join the gentle walking group so I don’t hold anyone up. When we did the Seine cruise we opted for the Bolbec tour we were the only ones and thought it would be cancelled ‘oh no’ we had our own limo, driver, tour guide and trainee tour guide, wonderful day. Good to know!

We hope to do a self-guided tour 1 day with E-bikes.

Traditionally, I prefer a live guide for historical themes, & to go my own way for art or nature themes.

Hoping to avoid larger groups, especially when some self-select as fast walkers and need assistance/fall behind continuously (and it's usually not the oldest member of the group!)
