Classic Package - Coke products

Just looking at a comparison of drink packages, Classic states it includes Soda, but not what kind.  Elsewhere on the Celebrity site it seems to say that Coke is only included with the Premium Package. Anybody have any previous experience with this? Thoughts that this might be different after Covid?

They say  "Our Soda Package features both fountain and canned soda for more variety and convenience. Selections include new, popular flavors such as Coke Zero, Barq's Root Beer, Sprite Zero, and Caffeine-Free Diet Coke." Those same sodas would be available with the Classic Drink Package as well as Premium, but you definitely do not need the Premium package to get Coke.

The way they show it online, I can see the confusion.

And as above, no Pepsi products.

In my experience the classic package only includes fountain drinks while the premium also includes cans.

There was a short time we experienced that but it didn’t last.  If you look at the packages both Classic & Premium just say soda, no differentiation between Classic & Premium.

On my most recent Celebrity Cruise (Jan 2020) I upgraded onboard and could not get canned soda until the upgrade.

Well now I am confused. The packages shown in the flier (https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/05_07_SP_Beverage-Package-Flyer_051721.pdf) both say soda but don't differentiate. But the online descriptions are these (https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/onboard-packages/beverage-packages😞

Classic Package

Choose from an incredible array of beers, spirits, cocktails, liqueurs, frozen drinks and wines by the glass up to $9 per serving.

(No mention of soda at all.)

Premium Package

All classic package items, PLUS: Specialty coffees & teas, craft & artisan beers, spirits, cocktails, frozen drinks, Coca Cola products, premium bottled water

(This adds Coke products to the classic package?)

The beverage package FAQ similarly mentions coke only when describing the Premium package (https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/beverage-packages).

These are also discussed in a blog (https://www.celebritycruises.com/blog/ultimate-guide-celebrity-cruises-perks) that describes the Classic Package then adds "For just $10 more a day, you can extend your Classic choices to include non-alcoholic staples too, like morning coffee from Cafe al Bacio or a green juice at The Spa Cafe & Juice Bar. Cool off at the pool with an ice-cold Coca-Cola, plus enjoy unlimited water in one of our recyclable aluminum bottles."

And the Kids Drink Package specifically calls out fountain soda: "includes smoothies, juices, bottled water, fountain sodas and one mocktail flaring mixology class." So there is some distinction between cans and fountain.

So any certainty I expressed when posting above is gone. This is way more confusing than it needs to be.

Slightly off-topic, but our most recent Celebrity sailing was a July 2019 Edge sailing.  My wife and I had the Soda Package.  It included Coke-brand canned beverages as well as Coke products through the bars' soda gun dispensers.  For Mountain Dew (a Pepsi product), I had to buy it ashore -- the ship did not stock Pepsi products in cans or in the soda guns.  I seem the recall that non-Coke brand sodas (the few in stock) were available on board for a small price -- I mean things like ginger beer.

Under the current "Always Included [but really NOT always included!]" promotion, we will get an Adult Beverage Package for the first time in over 35 years of cruising.  [We usually are given Casino drink privileges, but we never avail ourselves of the adult beverages.]   I am reasonably confident that the Classic will include the main Coke products, and that my wife will be able to get her Diet Coke in cans or fountain.  I'll grab a few cans of Dew ashore, but I can drink Sprite if that is all that is available.  Or, a virgin Mojito and a virgin Pina Colada.  I also drink hot tea and iced tea; I won't go thirsty, even in the heat of the Caribbean!

Vitaminwater is part of the coca-cola brand, and on all sailings I’ve been on it’s only available with the premium package - so this could be why it would be misleading to say all coca-cola products are included with the classic package.

Exactly HskrCrsr, it is confusing as Coca Cola is only mentioned in regard to the Premium package.  I guess we will find out as more cruises sail and report back any changes.

I am a 'soda' drinker and (drink) Coco Cola is my drink and this was definitely included on the Classic package.  There was a time there was a lot of hoopla that they might only server in the glass for Classic (fountain) and Premium would get you the can ... this never happened on any of my sailings and I always got the can.  I would be very surprised if any of that changed now and I think for Celebrity there are so many locations that do not have the fountain so they would only have the cans anyway.
