Anything I should know about TAMPA?

Recommended Posts

We live relatively close to the port of Tampa (well, closer than Miami or Ft. L.).  Thinking it might be a good idea to start up cruising from there.

However, what I've noticed is cruises, prices, and even occupancy doesn't move.  Prices stay the same.  The exact same staterooms that were available this time last month are available now.  Is there something going on that I don't know about?

It’s on the west coast of Florida😁😁

Seriously, we found it a very easy port to use.  Parking lots close by, we used Parking Doctors and could have walked to the terminal.  Be aware, because of the bridge under which the ship must sail, the larger ships don’t port there.

I know all of the above.  We've cruised out of Tampa a couple of times.

I'm just wondering if the future cruises are, indeed, going to happen.  I think Carnival and NCL also have future cruises scheduled out of there.  Perhaps I'll ask on their board.  I don't think any of the ships that will be sailing from there are there......Brilliance, for example, is in Europe and I t hink its TA is up in the air.

I sure hope they're going to happen because we have a December cruise on Brilliance. Just got a military discount on it earlier this month.

Good.  We're looking at either Dec. or Jan.

We booked a January, 2022 cruise on Brilliance just a few days ago. We also have a Celebrity cruise booked for this November on Constellation out of Tampa.

We love Tampa, parking is beyond reasonable, we use park connect.

We are (fingers cross) going Dec 2021 Rhapsody, Jan 2022 Brilliance

Feb 2022 Brilliance.  Just love the convenience of Tampa, we are

in Seminole, so the drive is less than 40 min.  Port Canaveral is 2 hours.

Thats the most we like to drive.  And I just love the smaller ships, just

perfect for a 5 day lets get out of the house trip. We really don't care about

the itinerary.

Not sure this matters but we have the Carnival Pride booked for Nov 14. As of now everything is a go.

Yes, it does matter.

Thanks, everyone.

I feel better now.🙂

I used a cruise mapper and it shows brilliance in Bahamas
