Cruise Suzy Posted August 22, 2021 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2021 On the Eurodam's deck plan for decks 6 and 7, it looks as if the small forward decks could be accessed for scenic cruising. Are they available while going through the Panama Canal - or at least the locks? I know passengers can go onto the bow while in the canal, but wondered if these areas might not be as crowded. Rare Essiesmom Posted August 22, 2021 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2021 (edited) It's been awhile since I've sailed HAL, but those forward decks used to be made available for viewing in special circumstances. You might want to ask on the HAL board if anyone has relatively recent experience... This is Zuiderdam, and you can see people on those decks, as well as the bow going through Gatun Locks This is Eurodam, also in Gatun Locks Eurodam again, at Miraflores Eurodam in Gatun Locks Edited August 22, 2021 by Essiesmom
CruiserBruce Posted August 22, 2021 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2021 Yes, they will be made available. But I wouldn't assume they will be less crowded.

marysb Posted May 10, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2022 Yes, Im sure they will be available. But just remember it is a long day, so there are many points during the day when the decks will not be as crowded. Here is a photo of Gatun Lake - lots of seating
