Armed Guards Venice

Glad we decided to avoid Italy/Venice for awhile and booked a Hawaii/French Polynesia cruise instead with our FCC from cancelled TA last year.  Interesting article from CNN on Venice transportation issues right now.  This in addition to the problems caused by ban on cruise ships in Venice. Wonder if people will even be able to get to Venice from the alternate ports.

Venice is becoming uninteresting for me to make a return visit.

When is your FP cruise?  All  FP cruises are cancelled  now till Mid Sept and that may be extended. Cook Islands are the problem .

Ditto.  I only go to Europe in the dead of winter to avoid this very thing.

Are there no armed guards in USA?  

This article is more about the transport system not reacting to the increase in demand.

Queues always appear longer if proper social distancing is maintained while queueing.

And there are always the few who believe that the rules don't apply to them.

Just reinforces our decision to go to the Greek Islands (just returned) where the number of visitors on an island is limited by hotel rooms.  Venice tends to attract many day visitors.  In fact those of us who have spent nights in Venice know that the Venice after 6pm becomes a lot quieter and more charming.
