Rare PistolPete13 Posted August 23, 2021 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2021 Oasis made a late sail away from Bayonne tonight with a stop by the Statue of Liberty. By the time she made it under the Verrazano Bridge it was well past sunset and there was barely any light for photos but I did my best. Enjoy and welcome back to cruising from NYC! 10

The horizon was clear on the south east however with blue skies earlier in the evening in the distance.
emilysmimi Posted August 23, 2021 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2021 Amazing photos, especially the ones showing how close she comes to the bridge. Thanks for sharing.
Jkaczanowski Posted August 23, 2021 #8 Share Posted August 23, 2021 High tide was 9:11 and she passed under at about 8:15. I wonder if there was also any sort of “storm surge” from Henri?

nelblu Posted August 23, 2021 #10 Share Posted August 23, 2021 Nice photos. I was watching on the port web cam. It was moving so slow. Someone had posted that it first went up the Hudson River before turning. Maybe the Captain will do the same when I sail the Oasis on Sept. 5. Ps: How does one goes about attaching photos.

It was moving super slow especially when you're standing in the rain in the dark waiting for it do pass under the bridge! Georgeny Posted August 23, 2021 #15 Share Posted August 23, 2021 Thanks for posting such great photo's! I watched her on port webcam and was initially surprised to see her head towards Manhattan. Thought maybe she was waiting for a tidal change. But since this was "test" sailing for the winners of the RCL lotto and has but one port I believe, CocoCay, maybeCaptain though nice sail by the Statue and look see at Freedom Tower was in order. BTW Alanna Zingano is doing live videos on youtube from the Oasis. Watched her live on board yesterday. Thanks again George in NY
Seany527 Posted August 23, 2021 #16 Share Posted August 23, 2021 Thanks for posting. Does Royal usually head up the Hudson as well, to sail past the Statue?

Iamcruzin Posted August 31, 2021 #23 Share Posted August 31, 2021 (edited) Pictures 8,9, and 10 would make a nice postcard. However, I don't know if anyone under 80yrs old still send postcards. Edited August 31, 2021 by Iamcruzin
