Rare LACruiser88 Posted August 23, 2021 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2021 If I'm reading the chart correctly, North American's are by far the biggest consumers of cruising?
Rare HaveDogWillTravel Posted August 23, 2021 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2021 The pax might be from other countries and not North American, but they sail from North America would be one way to interpret Passenger Volume by Region.

It seems to be passenger home locations since it is in agreement with other data that indicates by passenger origins from Cruise Market Watch 48% North America 25% Europe 16.7% Asia 3.5% South America 5.8% Australia 1.0% Middle East /Africa

If you look at where cruise lines normally deploy their capacity it is: Caribbean 33.7% Med 18.7% Europe Without Med 11.7% Asia 9.2% Australia/NZ 6.1% Alaska 4.1% South America 2.7% Other Markets 13.8% Note that this includes the world wide cruise industry not just the major RCL, CCL and NCLH owned brands,
Rare HaveDogWillTravel Posted August 25, 2021 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2021 @noclthanks for additional data it certainly clarifies the original graphs. I worked my Stat students hard on labeling and naming their visual displays of data. I marked down any work where it wasn’t completely evident what the data measured. This is why. This is why. 👍 The problem I had with the charts was the change of scale (millions vs. tens of thousands). Consistency is a good thing for readability.
