posted this before, club balcony is just a renamed mini-suite. its somewhat larger than a regular balcony, the bathroom is a little bigger, you get a bottle of sparkling wine, a free bag of laundry and some hors d'overes.

even it the  "club balcony" wasnt renamed from mini suites, and even without the few extras, i would definitely book this as opposed to the regular balcony.  especially mid ship deck 11

Club Balcony Suites provide additional amenities and privileges at no additional cost. Amenities include the option to pre-book onboard entertainment and dining as early as 125 days prior to sail date, complimentary treats delivered to your stateroom, a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, and a choice of one valet laundry or pressing service.

Agree about the larger cabin and the bathroom (particularly the toilet area, which is important for us bigger people!)  But I thought the other perks were a function of your Latitudes Rewards status.

no, the limited perks are included for anyone booking a club balcony suite.  you dont get a butler, concierge service, or the option to use the haven pool, bar and restaurant. ncl had to do something to justify the name change from mini suite to club balcony suite. however, i have said before a rose by any other name.....

The sleeping arrangements are a little different from a balcony too, at least on the Gem. We are sailing as a family of 4 and the pull out couch is a double on the Gem in club balcony, whereas in a regular balcony, the couch was a single and an additional drop down bed. And supposedly you're guaranteed a curtain to separate the two sleeping spaces whereas a regular balcony maybe maybe no.

In the OP's case (Encore), the sleeping arrangements are the same as a standard balcony. If it sleeps 4, it's sofa-bed and pullman above near the bathroom. If it sleeps three, it's sofa-bed which can be either near the bathroom or near the balcony (no pullman).

In the case of the aft-facing Club Balcony Suites, there is only sleeping for 2 since they are both wheelchair accessible staterooms (no sofa/no pullman).

Just got off of the Encore from one of these rooms.  We did get champagne glasses, but never a bottle.  No idea if it was good or swill as a result.  Probably not an issue as we had the Plus package so stuck to Veuve for the majority of the trip.  We did receive the other benefits and the early reservations were important.  I would also note that we almost always were seated at or near window seats in the MDRs though not sure if that was the reason.

Regarding the bathrooms... Category MC cabins on decks 8 and 9 have a bathtub plus the regular shower head (adjustable height, can be used as a handheld sprayer). All other Club Balcony categories have a big multi-jet shower which is lovely once you figure out how it works.

If it's the same sparkling wine that all Bronze+ Latitudes members get, it's swill. Stick with the Veuve!

Thank you for all the replies!

One of the descriptions on the NCL website mentioned a breakfast, lunch and dinner room service menu, are you charged the standard room service fee if you order from them or is it free?

Standard fee. Don’t be fooled by the “suite” part of the name - a Club Balcony is a regular cabin with a few extra perks, not an actual suite.

Room service is a flat rate delivery fee and thus is the same for one item or a feast of dishes. However, you can request a continental breakfast (cereals, breads, pastries, standard breakfast beverages) which incurs no charge or delivery fee.

I'm trying to book a Club Balcony Suite on Encore and having been trying to figure out if there is a way to tell which specific rooms have the main bed near the balcony with sofa near bathroom and pullman above. Are you saying that all rooms that indicate they sleep 4 should be this set up? Also, do you know what the difference is between a Family Club Balcony Suite (M4) vs. a regular Club balcony suite (MA-MC)
