Unvaxxed kids

Has anyone gone on a cruise yet with a child too young to be vaccinated? Just wondering what your experiences were, did you enjoy it or did you feel like a pariah? Would you go again or wait to see if things will eventually become more normal?

Would be best to ask on the board of the line you are considering. Each line has their own requirements/etc.

NCL: No unvaxxed, period.

CCL: Requires an exemption from corporate. No kids clubs.

Not sure of the other lines off the top of my head.

It's tough because the recommendation normally would be to take the kids outside for kids club activities when the weather allows, but then you have the risk of a kid getting lost unless they have a way of securing outdoor space and fencing it in so the kids can't wander off.

We are going on Royal in December.  Masks required, you have to reserve a time in kids club, excursions must go through the ship.  There are some areas that they will not be allowed, but we never take them to those areas anyway- casino, bars, spa, solarium (adults only pool).  There are additional testing requirements as well.  But, it will all be worth it.

We just did Royal w/ child age 4 and absolutely would do it again with unvax child!

How was the kids club operating? We are going on Oasis in February with a 4 year old and a 5.5 year old who will be just a few days shy of 14 days post second dose (I'm hoping his second dose can be given a few days earlier than the 8 week interval)

Kids club was fabulous and he had an amazing time.  Great activities.  We were allocated 10 hours pre cruise and then "standby to get in". As soon as we got onto the ship we headed to make the 10 hours of reserved time.

Had NO PROBLEM getting into the Kids Club whenever we wanted.  They do have REDUCED HOURS - check when you get on the ships as things are changing all the time.  Liked that the staff in the kid's club was also some of the lifeguards in the Splash Pad area - they knew the kids and really were able to engage with them in both places.

why would be an 8 week interval?

Our kid's second dose could be scheduled any time starting at 3 week mark. We were still cruising, so DS's second dose was done at exactly 4 weeks.

Is it different in Canada? I know you guys had supply problems at the beginning.

Canada has always recommended longer intervals, probably to get more vaxed.
