Harmony of the Seas in October - Shore Excursion in Palma or on our own?

Hi,

we are boarding the Harmony on October 3rd in Barcelona. Looking very much forward to our first cruise since Fall 2019.

In Italy all excursions have to be booked with RCL.

But about the port of Palma de Mallorca I've heard and read different opinions. Some said that we also would be able to go to Mallorca only with shore excursion booked through RCL. But some said, because it's a spanish port, that we can go out on our own.

So, I wonder which is the case now. In case we can go out alone, we would take a taxi to the historic center of Palma - and back with a taxi as well (question: how hard is it to get a taxi from the historic center back to the port?).

Thanks a lot

Alex

Hi,

You can find al the info on this page from RC:

https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise

You just select Barcelona as your starting point.

Very helpful site, with loads of info, so take your time reading it :-).

This is the part for spain ports:

Spain
Fully vaccinated parties have the choice of booking a shore excursion or visiting freely. Parties that wish to go ashore and include any unvaccinated guests, must book a shore excursion through Royal Caribbean that is provided by an independent local tour operator that has agreed to comply with recommended health protocols.

Vaccinated parents wishing to go ashore freely can visit our youth facilities once onboard to learn about drop off program hours and availability, and reserve time for their child on the day they wish to go in port. Drop off facilities will only be available for children aged 6 months to 11 years of age. Children aged 12 – 17 will not be permitted to stay onboard without their parents and will need to accompany their parents if they decide to go ashore.

You can ask any questions about Mallorca on the ports of call board where the very helpful @roger b provides loads of information. Here's the link:
