Casino Free Stateroom Cancellation Policy

Just reaching out to anyone who has had experience with booking with Princess Casino Free Stateroom. Not the 35% casino discount as I know there cancellation policy.  I had to give a deposit and port fees up front which came to approx 950.00 and am told that if I cancel ( even 4 months before sailing )none of my money is refundable or transferrred to an OBC.

Has anyone experienced this or had a different outcome?

I just booked the same type of offer yesterday.  I asked about the cancellation policy because I want us to have our booster shot before going in December.  Plus what if we test positive for the covid test prior to the trip if it is still required in December.

Answer:  The cancellation is the same for casino offers as for all cruises.  The money would be given back in Future Cruise Credit.  The offer that you booked may not be available for the future, so the credit would have to be used for whatever cruise you choose.

We had a cruise for April 2021 that had a lot of perks, but Princess cancelled that cruise.  I called and chose April 2022 for the same cruise, but lost a $300 OBC that was for the 2021 cruise.

I asked if this applied to casino bookings and was told yes it does.  It was during a chat and I took a screen shot of it.  Maybe use that option so you have a record of the conversation?

For my "free" casino cruises, they had been pretty strict about the fact that the $200 deposit per person (that turns into OBC once onboard) and any premiums paid for Princess Vacation Protection would not be refundable.  My cruises were booked for 2022 so Book with Confidence would not apply to those (or at least doesn't for cruises after April 30, 2022 right now).  And I actually saw this in writing after they inadvertently cancelled one of those cruises after I added EZAir and their system treated the amount that the casino owed as unpaid $$ that was overdue.  The cancellation notice showed the cancellation fees as the $200 PP + insurance, the rest that I paid was to be refunded (port fees, EZAir, and the amount that I paid to upgrade the cabin above what they were allowing for free).  Princess restored all of that but they have since cancelled that cruise so I am getting all of my money back.  So I guess the bottom line is - it depends on the date of the cruise.  Details on Book with Confidence are here:  https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cancellation-final-payment-policy/

I cancelled a free casino cruise for next summer.   I got my money back, had upgraded to a mini, except for the deposit.  Since I had the insurance, I filed that to get the deposit back.  Haven't heard a word on that though I keep bugging them.

You said you got the money back except for the deposit.  Did you get the insurance money refunded?  I figured that money would be lost, but then the deposit would eventually get set up as FCC under cancel for any reason.  But at a minimum you would be out the cost of the insurance premium, right?

Correct.  I did not get the insurance money back.

Some friends were offered a free interior from the Casino and asked for an upgrade to an Oceanview. The price they were quoted was more than the cost of a regular booking for that category of cabin!!

So much for Casino discounts!

It depends on the cruise.  For both that I booked, the upgrade cost from the free interior to a mini suite was about 25% to 30% of the web price of a mini suite.  So that was a pretty good deal for these cruises.  For both I had asked about the cost to upgrade to a full suite and in both cases the web price minus the usual casino discount was under the upgrade cost quoted.  So you do need to compare options to figure out the best deal, taking into account the fact that everything needs to be paid immediately when you book including EZAir airfare and insurance.

I wish they had your agent! That would be a pretty good deal. Maybe it was because they are in Canada as the prices very greatly by country. Not very fair I have always felt!
