The guys won again!

Well I'm going to go ahead and call it. Its early but I have to will myself out of bed as early as possible so I can go into work tomorrow and pay for all this cruising I am doing. I'd also like to get up with enough time for a leisurely mdr breakfast.

Goodnight everybody.

Looks like you’re late arriving this morning.  🤔

Thanks again for taking us with you!

We had a medical situation. Don't know if it was the same but someone had a seizure in the casino Saturday night. The team transporting whoever had to be disembarked was late returning to the ship yesterday.

I hope everyone is okay and I can certainly understand the situation is out of Royal's hands. I would have appreciated accurate information though so I could have made an informed decision as the captain said we would arrive on time still.

Now I'm awake earlier than I need to be and looks like we are not here yet.

Well that’s annoying.  If they had told everyone, you could have slept in!  The tracker sites are saying your ETA is 10AM so I knew something was going on.
I couldn’t sleep so I watched the Disney dream come in and was expecting to see you not far behind.

Ok this is weird.  There is a ship there now.  You must be there and the tracker stopped working.  Very strange morning.

Yea looks like we just docked, not as late as I thought. When I got up we were still traveling 4.0 knots when I'm used to already being docked. I've never been up early enough to be up before arrival so I don't know how long clearance takes but I thought a while.

The line of people waiting to get off seem to think it will be any minute. Maybe I will just do Windjammer.

Stuck to my original plan and went to mdr. Stopped off at Starbucks. Glad I resisted the urge until now or I would be blowing all my money here. Yum. I live in the only town in America with no Starbucks. And they gave me a plastic straw!! Hallelujah.

The crew still says 730 for disembarkation but I am skeptical. We will see.

Hi! Can anyone who has recently been on Mariner tell me if there are any cigarette smell issues outside of the casino?  I have a friend who wants to join us on our cruise but is highly sensitive to smoke.  He won't be going into the casino but he is worried other areas nearby and on the royal promenade may still smell like smoke.  Any current or recent reports would be much appreciated!

Was on a little over two weeks ago. Only smelled smoke while in the casino. No issues in the Promenade etc, even near the stairs going down to the casino. But, since you're wearing a mask anytime you're wandering around, it wasn't an issue anyway.

@jam

question for you.  I have the UD package on my 3 night MOTS cruise next month and I have never had it before.  It says the lunch is included on sea days but does that mean only sea days or if one of the restaurants happens to be open for lunch while in port like departure day is it useable?

thanks.   DPR

Was on Labor Day weekend and I’m sensitive to smoke smells. Only detected odor when casino was in operation, we used the outside deck to cut from front to back of ship.
Traveling companion grew up in Vegas. When we would cut through empty casino she remarked that the smell reminded her of her childhood. Guess they all use a similar deodorizing scent

I am crazy. I finally caught the cruise next desk open and asked about the promotion u thought I heard about. It does not exist. Sometimes they run specials with a lower rate but not $200 OBC just for booking.

The up to $600 is your usual $25-75 for most bookings. $600 is for a 10 day cruise in a grand suite. At that point $600 means nothing to me lol.

No spa deals either. They said they were running a special on coco cay day and it would be listed in the planner but it is not listed so they must have met their quota.

It is likely dependent on how booked the spa is on your sailing so just because there were no specials on my cruise, there might be when you sail.

We got a great twilight spa special on Saturday (Nassau).  A 50 minute massage, Swedish or deep tissue, for $99.  I actually got a 60 minute deep tissue, thanks to Merilynn. Really enjoyed it.

This surprises me. I thought everyone was required to remain in their cabins until they were called to disembark.

Nope - walkoffs were leaving the ship by 7:30. We were in our car in the parking garage at 7:59.

Customs was ridiculously easy - they had two lines. One was for people who used birth certificates; the other for people with passports.  As we stopped to pull out passports out of the bag, they told us to keep walking.  The ask you to pull down your make, they take your photo, and that's it.  No Customs declaration form, not stopping at the desk.  You're done!
