ZoeyVictoria Posted September 14, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2021 There have been so many changes this last year that I can’t keep up. I know that part of Royal’s Cruise With Confidence includes price drops up until 48 hours before sailing, but I can’t recall Carnival’s policy. There is a price drop of $80 on an October cruise booked under a casino rate. Any chance of a refund or OBC? We have a large, oddly shaped, corner 4J that we don’t want to give up, so upgrading wouldn’t be an option for us.
LHARTWICK Posted September 14, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2021 We've had several price drops on our upcoming cruises lately - all after final payment. Had one yesterday. Just fill out the CCL price protection form and submit. I usually get a response w/in an hour or so. Any price difference has been applied to the reservation as OBC. Jamesatgsu Posted September 15, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2021 They gave me OBC when I did it in 2020 (of course it didn't end up mattering as the cruise was eventually cancelled). It was super easy.

Can never tell what Carnival is doing these days. Last week called Carnival to check on a price drop for our upcoming cruises. They are both paid in full. The rep asked if I wanted a refund, was surprised by it. Due to a misunderstanding one was refunded and the other went to OBC.
grandmacani Posted September 15, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2021 I’ve found when I book 4j or 4K cabins that the price drop doesn’t affect that category. But with times being what they are it doesn’t hurt to try.

GTO-Girl Posted September 15, 2021 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2021 We did not book Early Saver, we booked with the RU1 drink package rate. Our PVP went to bat for us and we got an OBC and kept our drink package and this was after final payment..
rob6465 Posted September 16, 2021 #9 Share Posted September 16, 2021 (edited) So if i have a certain amount of OBC for a december cruise and find a lower price for same category, do i get the difference added as more OBC? Don't want to lose the OBC I already have since it was the $$ from carnival cancelling a cruise early this year. Usually a cabin upgrade or OBC. No refund.

He suggested the cabin upgrade, but we are very happy where we are. There was also a $120 price drop on the Mardi Gras that we booked last week, and that one has been adjusted.
