On my 7 day cruise, I have the option to purchase  browse  and Stream - 1 device $100.73 pp and 2 devices is $179.06 per person. We are in YC. Since Browse ( 2 devices) is included (134.26pp) wonder if it would be the difference?  Not able to do it online. Probably onboard.  Remember, concierge is your best friend while onboard.

Not sure you need specialty package.  Up to you.   We have a specialty dinner because we are Diamond but, it was disappointing. We should have stayed and eaten in YC Dining room.  Remember, you do not need to stick to menu of the day.

Not sure upgrading to Premium Plus is needed.  Not included in YC booking.

Fun Pass is $80

We may want to upgrade our internet as well. Is this something the concierge can take care of for us?

If the VPN trick doesn't work, then that's probably the best place to get it done, as soon as you board.

Just read my print out for the cruise (one of the 23 pages that were sent to me) as far as what's included.

"Unlimited beverage selection in MSC YC areas and in all bars and restaurants of the ship"

To me, that READS, I have Premium Plus, since in theory, i'm NOT limited.... Am I reading this correctly??

Yes, I believe only Carnival caps you at 15 drinks.

Yes, I understand that Carnival caps @ 15 drinks, but that would read, you have "unlimited drinks".

MSC's wording is "unlimited beverage selection" (again, to me, that means the selection of drinks is unlimited, there are no restrictions).......

No, that is not correct 😞

YC drink package doesn't really fit into either of the other classes. You don't have Premium Plus, but you still get some stuff that Premium doesn't get...it's confusing af.

If you want super high end stuff, upgrade to Premium Plus.

Now, after Nov (?) all of this changes...we will see what happens then once the sailings start.

You're correct, it's super confusing, and MSC shouldn't make it as such.

I'll stick with what I have, and if I find that what i'm ordering falls outside of what's included in the YC drink package, I'll go to the YC Concierge desk and get myself upgraded to avoid frustration.

I'm going to call MSC, and yes, I know, the person I speak to may not have any clue what it is, or what it actually includes, but I'll give it a shot and report back.

So, full marks for the attempt, but you won't truly know what you get until you are on the ship, and even then it can vary by day.

Here are the rules...

1) Stuff in Premium package...you will 100% get this

2) Stuff more than $12....some of this you will 100% get, but some stuff you will get based on who is serving you and what day it is...seriously. So it doesn't matter what the rep says, you have to wait until you get onboard 😞

Hi,

this YC bar list is not exhaustive. They offer some cocktails which are not on the list. E.g. on my last YC cruise last week I ordered White Russian and it came without any charge.

Just ask. Once I spotted a bottle of Galliano at the bar and asked the waiter which cocktail will contain Galliano. He couldn‘t answer, but 30s later the bar tender showed up and I ask him to make a Cocktail with it. A lot is possible in YC if you just ask.

The problem with the „unlimited beverage selection“ is the word „selection“ which means a subset of all available beverages. But to figure out what is part of the selection sometimes is hard to figure out. The word unlimited is quite clear and means unlimited number/amount of beverages.

Currently there are 3 big secrets in the world: dark energy, dark matter and YC beverages. Very likely the latter will be solved last.

cheers

Indeed, in YC it is not the Premium Package. In the info about my cruise in the MSC for Me app, it is written “YC EXP BEVERAGE PCG”. Here is the current bar list in YC for Mediterranean cruises:

QR_V_YC-BAR-LIST_OTHER_DAYX_EN_1631356308.pdf 264.36 kB · 6 downloads

I called, and as expected, I didn't get much.   The CSR tried, but couldn't get past the "unlimited", which I know now (from this forum) that it's unlimited drinks, and not unlimited selection (meaning no $$ limit)

Thanks for posting this drink menu, I hadn't seen this until now!

I'll wait til I get onboard and see what is and isn't covered.  I wanted a nice glass of champagne since we are celebrating my wife's birthday on embarkation day, and didn't want to be hit with a $30 charge for the 2 drinks because it wasn't covered in the YC drink package.  Nothing worse than spending $$ and being told, sorry sir, that's not covered.....

I'm not a champagne specialist, but of the 4 listed in the PDF,  is there one that is better than the other.

Additionally, if I do upgrade to Premium Plus, what is the next tier to sip on?

It is my understanding if you do Premium Plus then everything is truly 100% covered...

The only real champagne included in YC is the Nicolas Feuillatte, which I liked a lot! The retail price is $30+, not bad !

Again, not sure if it is the same on other markets such as the US market.

I think the US market is different.   CruiseHabit has info from late Aug 2021 on Meraviglia, so it's a good source of menus there!

Bonjour,

I am booked for October on YC seaside

Very interesting wine and alcohol list!

Just to clearly understand: the "Connoisseurs choice" on the list (by glass) is not include in YC package?  but we can upgrade it when on board for the premium+++++ package?

In this case do you have any idea of the price for upgrade?

Ps: I asked question to MSC regarding upgrade of beverage package in YC and answer was: I don’t know because many things will change soon !!

Sailing in YC on Meraviglia in 15 days.Talked to an MSC Rep yesterday about upgrading to Premium Plus. Talk about a frustrating call. The lady was very pleasant but didn't have a clue. She was trying to bill me full price for the 2 packages, not the upgrade price. After about 15 minutes of frustration I told her I'll try to get the upgrade on the ship.

I'm going to do the same, just upgrade @ the YC Concierge desk once we get onboard.  I have an 11am embarkation time, so I suspect it will not be busy at that time.   I'm reading that it's $119 ($17 per day) to upgrade, and given the fact you pay full price for anything over $12, I can easily get a Johnnie Walker Blue for $27 which IS covered (once you upgrade), will more than makes up the upgrade cost just on that alone.

I checked out CruiseHabit's website. Saw Hendricks available on other menus, but not listed on the YC menu, even with the upgrade. Thought that was kind of odd.

I see it listed for $14, which is why it may not be listed in the YC.....

Would be covered by Premium-Plus, but possibly not in YC - I say possibly because as others have mentioned, it depends on bartender, time of day, position of the sun, general mood of said bartender, and the bar itself. 🙂

I wonder if we upgrade to Premium Plus while in YC (that's our plan), if they'd be kind enough to serve it there?
