Can you put Carnival Gift cards on your Sign and Sail card and if any is left over, cash out at casino?

I have several Carnival gift cards from family members and wondered if I can add them to my sign and sail card.  If so and I don't use all the money, can I cash out at the casino after a few plays at the slots and tables?

TIA!

The latest word going around is you can’t turn OBC into cash at the casino anymore.

Carnival Gift Cards are your money and the amount that you do not spend is fully refundable.  If there is a positive amount on your Sail and Sign account at the end of the cruise you can:

go Guest Services to get a refund of the $ in cash

use the kiosk to get a refund of the $ in cash

go to the casino, add the total amount to your casino account and cash out at the cashier there

if more than $10. you will get a refund from Carnival - I believe that is it a check form rather than return of the amount in a gift card.

That is different from OBC that is non-refundable. Your only option there in the past was using the casino.

Close.  You cannot cash out Gift Card amounts placed on your S&S account unless you use the casino trick.  That would the same as taking a gift card to any retailer (for example, taking a Kroger gift card to Kroger) and asking for the money instead.  They cannot do that.

The rumble recently about not being able to use the casino trick any longer is specifically related to the non-refundable OBC that people are getting due to cancelled cruises.

If you have any amount left over on your S&S that was funded by a gift card, you will receive that amount back in the form of a new gift card mailed to you after the cruise.  Any amount funded by another source (refundable OBC, for example) will be mailed to you in a check.

Note that Carnival uses your funds in this order:  Non-refundable OBC, gift cards, refundable OBC, other forms of funding.

There is a red atm looking machine right across from guest services that you can check your on board acct balance and add money or gift cards to it as you see fit. Instead of adding all of my cards into my acct right off the bat, I monitor my acct periodically and add a card here and there as I see fit so as to not have to much leftover unused credit.
