Covid test for same day flights (Canada)

For those who cruise in and out of Miami or any other destination, how does one get a PCR test 48 hrs before a flight back to Canada if we are stuck on a boat?

 

Flights back home take off a few hours after the ship docks, so how do people get PCR test in time to fly back?

There is a company called Fast Labs (fastlabsmed.com) that has several sites in Miami. From their website, it looks like they have mobile homes fitted as testing centres. They charge $175-200 US per person for a rapid PCR test. I think the closest site to the cruise terminal is the Midtown location. We are flying home from Ft. Lauderdale after our Virgin cruise and the cheapest I've found there is $159 US per person right at the airport. Their site says results in 45 minutes.

Virgin will only be providing them pre-cruise. They do not have resources for passengers prior to flying home

Between spending a few extra nights in Miami or paying for the test. I would pay and at the Miami Airport results can be obtained within 40 mins to an hour. A simple research and you could get the information.

I read on a post here that they can do it on the ship.

Post on your cruise line board.

 

I would be very surprised if you cannot make arrangements to get a PCR test (at your cost) on the ship.

Also want to add that it doesn't have to be 48 hours before you leave.

It is no more then 48 hours so you can get your test as mentioned above at 8am, 9am. and then board your flight at 11am, etc.

All of the better cruise lines - including the one I work for - offer the tests onboard.

They swab you the final morning for the cruise and give you the results in the afternoon.
