We got there about 8:15 and it was still pretty dead. There’s almost like 3 sections of beach separated by piers. The first one had like 8 people, but no one had gone on down, so we did and had a whole area to ourselves. We got to chairs for $20. He said we got a table and an umbrella too but never saw the table and didn’t want the umbrella because it was pretty overcast and early. The Disney Fantasy came in and we watched it turn around and back in.

More people slowly started to trickle in including several groups of early 20 somethings there to have insta-photo shoots.
Small rant: don’t come to the beach, National park, any sort of art or monument and expect everyone to stay out of your “claimed” area while you take pictures for 1-2 hours. It’s not happening. These kids were posing, angling, propping the phones up on coral, crawling out of the water in slo-mo, it was just a lot and when others were going, you know, to swim (gasp) or walk on the beach (gasp) it was a whole thing. there were neon, fringe, mesh pants with a thong out there. The whole totally hot mess.
At this point, we got our chair guy, Peter to get us some beers. 😆 Oh and I chased a crab.

A beer turned into 3 and at noon, we left Insta-heaven and headed up the road to John Watling’s Distillery. One of the beach places was cooking their jerk chicken… we just didn’t have time though. Smelt amazing.
The walk was uphill, but we saw some nice things on the way… a cemetery, paintings, etc.

After dinner, headed over to Brass Magnolia to see Atilla. He saw us on the way to dinner and asked where we had been. Brass Magnolia was very busy because the New Radicals were playing. I got a Praline truffle. It’s really good.

wasn't there a late 90s band called the new radicals? I vaguely remember them from TRL maybe?
