B2B Questions

I am about to book a second leg for my November Summit sailing and I have a few questions about how Celebrity handles B2Bs. I have just recently come off my first ever B2B on NCL, so I am less of a newbie than I was, but I still don't know anything about what Celebrity might do differently.

  1. I will be in a Sky Suite for the first sailing and an Aqua Class Veranda for the second sailing. I assume I will need to pack up most/all of my stuff, but with the crew move it to my new cabin for me? Do I need to remove hanging items from hangars or can those be moved directly?
  2. On my B2B on NCL a few weeks ago, my onboard account was just kept open from one sailing to the next and any remaining OBC from my first sailing carried over. Is that how it works on Celebrity or will I need to make sure I use up all of my OBC from my first sailing before my second sailing?
  3. For pre-cruise testing, will I receive a test onboard in the last day or two of my first leg so I will have completed testing within 48 hours of my second leg?

Items in drawers will need to be packed but clothing on hangers remain on hangers.  Stateroom attendants have the type of trolley used by bellmen in hotels which will be used to move your belongings.

OBC does not carry over to the second leg.  Non-refundable OBC will be lost if not used.  Celebrity treats each leg as a separate cruise.

We did a B2B last month.  Following the B2B meeting the documentation officer took all six of the B2B passengers to a conference room which was where covid testing was conducted.  We were all tested at Celebrity's expense.

Thank you! Very good to know about the OBC, as I have a fair amount of it in the first leg from being in a suite and a price drop when the 20% sale started. Will have to make sure use it all up!

OBC does NOT move to the next sailing.  Your account is closed out and a new one begun on the second sailing.  If you have any OBC left that is non refundable you will loose it

In your cabin on the TV screen you will see what you have noted as OBN (on board credit NON refundabele) and OBR  (on board credit REFUNDABLE)  we leave the refundable on the account and it becomes a credit back to our credit card which is like reducing the cost of your cruise.  Hope this helps

I believe all of my OBC for this sailing is non-refundable as some of it came from booking a suite and some of it came as compensation for a price drop.

Correct.  OBR typically comes from a source external to Celebrity.

We did the exact same thing a few weeks ago, suite 1st leg, AQ 2nd.

ask for as many hangers as possible, for drawer type things, I always pack in packing cubes, so it was just a matter of tossing cubes into suitcase, & then attendants transferred hanging clothes to closet, & they drop off suitcase.   For your safe items, we were permitted to wait in the retreat area after we did our b2b procedures that last day, & we received our transit passes so we could leave ship to do some shopping & pick up more wine for 2nd leg...you are also free to roam the ship, which is cool, we had about 10 b2b folks, so it was very investing being on a ghost ship

We also had a ton of OBC...  our particular cruise the shop that sells apple products only had older items, so we mostly laundered our abc through the casino,  we still had a few hundred dollars of promotional chips that we used on 2nd leg, it's about the only way to carry your ons forward, just be sure to cash in all real chips on last night!  Enjoy!

🙂

Excellent point!  Hadn't thought of that as a way to carry OBC across legs.

They said if it was more than a few hundred it would be problematic as they have to balance everything out on last night...  I think we carried about $250 forward & it was fine 🙂

How did you like it. Did it feel like too much of a downgrade between sailings?

It actually didn't, which is surprising ...  what we missed the most was the retreat...  ( & we were practically the only ones using it lol)  For our particular sailing there were some service issues in Blu tat were disappointing, so we made use of Specialty restaurants instead...  we did the chef's table which was amazing, & Tuscan a couple of times...  our sailings the weather was too cold/windy to use retreat deck... so that wasn't something we missed out on.   Having the Persian Gardens second leg was wonderful..  We tried to do completely different things 2nd leg & was like being on a brand new cruise, except al the crew knew us already, it was just lovely!  Enjoy!
