Ajaccio vs Palma de Mallorca

I haven't been to Ajaccio itself [cruise was scheduled there in 2019 but diverted to Toulon], but I was recently on a cruise that spent two days in Corsica [Bonifacio, and Calvi / L'Ile Rousse] – and I have been to Palma twice. 

 

If you've never been to either of your options, I would pick Palma as there is much more to do.  You can spend a day in Palma itself [we did this the first time], or take the historic train to Soller, or rent a car and drive to Valldemossa, Deia and Soller [we did this the second time, see my blog here:

On the other hand, more cruises stop at Palma than at Ajaccio – so you may have other opportunities for Palma in the future...

Palma without question. Lovely, very walkable city.

 

The train to Soller is a great trip across the mountain. And, once in the town,  you can change to the tram (they use old San Francisco ones) to get to the Port, which is a tourist resort. By the by, my brother in law originates from  the town, so I may be biased here
