ddlb Posted October 28, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2021 We have a late flight and want to stay in our cabin as long as we can. Could anyone tell us how long we are allowed to stay in the cabin or YC section before we have to leave to disembark the ship. Thanks. This is on the Mera - Port Canaveral. The other alternative would be to find something to do instead of sitting at the MCO airport all day but I do not see any MSC excursions that would end at MCO. Don’t want to rent a car. JAGR Posted October 28, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2021 (edited) Since it ports at 7:00 and they need to zero out the passenger count, I would say they would try and have you off the ship by 9:30. MSC typically wants you out of your room well before then, most likely 8:00 for being out of the cabin. Day stay in a hotel near the airport is one option. Another would be a private shuttle from the port to MCO that would include a visit to the Kennedy Space Center. Small companies like Cape Canaveral Transportation can arrange a tour for one or several hours. Edited October 28, 2021 by JAGR
kidless Posted October 28, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 28, 2021 We just got off Divina Yacht club. We were told have to be out of cabin NO later then 830 they’d prefer 0800. I don’t think Customs will give the all clear till everyone is off so the new passengers can board.
PRH Posted October 28, 2021 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2021 It was our experience (pre-covid) that you had to be out of your cabin by 8:30 but could stay in the TSL until the ship had to be cleared (in the US)—usually 9:30 to 10am (no one can embark until the ship is cleared). Different scenario in Europe where you could elect to remain in the TSL until noon or so. Your cabin still has to be cleaned and readied for the next occupants so please respect the crew’s need to get in.
SirWolf Posted October 28, 2021 #5 Share Posted October 28, 2021 We arrived on Meraviglia last Saturday at 6:00am in Miami.. breakfast was open from 6:30-8:30am .. Disembarking time for Voyagers Club members was 8:00am , meeting point Top Sail Lounge.. slight delay.. we were escorted by our butler at 8:20am off the ship.. face scan in port terminal.. luggage was already in terminal.. and with the shuttle bus to Parking Garage G .. quick and easy process ..

Great idea and I absolutely agreed to get out of the cabin by 830 so the crew can get their job done. Any chance of getting breakfast after 830 anywhere on the ship? funNsun4me Posted October 28, 2021 #9 Share Posted October 28, 2021 I'm on the flipside of this question. We are sailing out of Miami and our flight back home leaves MIA at noon, however Jet Blue changed the time to 10:30 am. Is this doable if we decide to do YC walkoff? I have been stressing but I have until April so hoping maybe they will change it again to a later time or add another flight that I can change to without camping out all day in the airport.

It's a fifteen minute ride to MIA. If you get off by 8:30, I would think you would be fine. We are on a 10:25 flight in March, and I have not had a problem getting to the airport in plenty of time to check bags and relax in the Admiral's club before the flight. Ship arrives at 6:00 a.m., so if you do YC walk-off, they will be open by 7:00 for you, I would bet. Edited October 28, 2021 by JAGR

You can put in dates and preferred location as well as filters you want (for example, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or must have pool and restaurant). KennyFla Posted October 28, 2021 #19 Share Posted October 28, 2021 The asked us to be out of the room by 8:00, and off at 9:00. The extra cleaning protocols probably have something to do with it.

And took our time Yes, but that is because everything went perfectly for you...little to no lines through immigration, ship docked on time, no traffic to airport, etc. I think a 10:30am flight is fine - and I would book that - but I would consider it "tight" because if anything goes wrong you may be in trouble. I would not book anything prior to 10am personally...

It was a request, and we were happy that we were able to board early on our embarkation day so we did it. Under the current situation getting a "late checkout" is probably more difficult. What time did they give you?

What time did they give you? Very interesting. We were told to be out of the room by 8:30, but were never given a time to get off the ship. I left around 9am because I had a flight to catch, but friends were still in the YC restaurant when I left. They said they left around 9:30. I wonder if it was because there were so few people onboard? Or maybe there *was* a problem letting people off that late and they've tweaked it some... Pre-covid I definitely stayed on until 9:30...
