Need a place to go with the kids

Our cruise stops in Costa Maya in late Dec.  I had planned on going to the water park but it's closed.  Now I need to come up with something else to do.  I've looked at the various beach clubs and I can't put my finger on one that would be great for the kids.  Here's what I'm looking for:

--Great sandy beach with clear water

--Wifi

--Pay as you Go--I don't drink and the kids don't have much interest in local food

--Ability to use/rent kayak/paddleboards/jetskis

--Beach chair with umbrella or shade

--Proximity to a dive shop would be a huge plus

--Close to town for shopping when the sun becomes too much

---Kids are not "lay on the beach" kids; they have to be doing something.

--Kids are not interested in the ruins

Suggestions are welcome--thank you

Depending upon which cruise ship/lines you are on, if your children aren't vaccinated, you will be restricted to ship sponsored bubble tours.  So check with your cruise ship for those excursions.

If you are able to go DIY with your children, look at YAYA Beach.  Right next to Dr Dive (same owner). I think they may have shifted to All Inclusive packages.

Maya Chan also has paddleboards, snorkeling and kayaks.  You need reservations.

Tequila Beach, first tram stop if running, has all the water toys but tends to be over crowded and pver priced relative to other places along the malecon.

You don’t say how old your kids are. I haven’t been to Krazy Lobster but I believe from photos I have seen Krazy Lobster may have kayaks and paddle boards. Someone should be able to confirm or you could email.

You can snorkel or get a boat ride out to the reef for better snorkeling. I am not aware of anywhere on the malecon that rents jet skis or motorized water activities. You can rent beach bikes and possibly segways or that may only via an excursion.

further afield you might consider Bacalar Lagoon.
