Cozumel - can you get off ship and walk about on own?

I suspect this has been 'asked and answered' before but at this point in time, when sailing on Carnival, can you get off the ship and simply walk about and return to ship without any drama?

Good to know, thank you, we are on the Pride November 28th, one thing we always do in Cozumel, sounds crazy to some I suppose, is walk to the MEGA Store.

Just back from a cruise there. We got off and walked to Del Mar Latino Beach club. An easy 10-15 minute walk from the Carnival port.  $29 all inclusive day pass. They did not require us to wear masks there.

Appreciate your recent report. Booking our Covid testing Saturday, we can book two weeks out, Thanksgiving coming up, then off we cruise!

JUST WONDERING IF THE 10 MIN WALK WAS FROM Puerto May dock or International dock. Was the $29 all inclusive  day posted or did you have to ask? What did the "all inclusive " include? We will be in Cozumel in Jan and again in Feb and this is exactly what we'd like to do.

How far is it to walk to the MEGA store??   Which direction from the pier ?

Will try my best - get off ship and walk out to street - turn left and walk either along shoreline or cross street and initially you will walk by shops - keep walking - it is eventually on the right side as you walk along - takes us about 30-45 minutes - taxi is also an option but it gives us our exercise of the day. (If and when on MSC you dock downtown and it is a 5 minute walk.) I buy creams/lotions such as Nivea, many purchase “beverages,” have quite a good variety.

We walked from the Puerto Maya dock. Go out of the shopping area and turn left, you will pass the other dock on the way there. It is an easy walk on a sidewalk (we are 50 somethings with assorted bad knees and ankles and we managed fine).  The $29 is a current special but the website says that price is good through Dec. 20, 2022. They are currently limiting guests to 30 per day. You can make reservations in advance on their website, although we just showed up and paid that day. There were only a few other people there besides us.  It included chairs, pool, wifi, bathrooms, all food and beverages. (Bring your own towel.) Their website shows the menus. It isn't a great area for swimming and there is no real beach, but it was a great relaxing day.

Ah I know where you went, we walk by it on our way to the Megs Store. Whenever we have cruised Carnival we have docked at Puerto Maya, with Royal right next door.

Sounds like a good option I haven't heard of.  It may be what we do on our port day there next month.

it's just their version of Walmart, but I love wandering the aisles of both in MX as they have a lot of different things compared to the Walmarts near my home
