How full are the ships sailing?

This was from an article on the Odyssey Naming ceremony 2 day cruise.

Mr. Bayley shared some rough estimates for ships sailing over the next few months.

" In October, I think the Royal Caribbean International Brand fleet sailed at 50 percent load factor."

"In November it'll be 60 percent. In December, it'll be 65. As we move into January, we'll continue to increase it."

If they were at 60% in November, we'd see more ships with the Windjammer open for dinner... i think I've only seen people report 1-2 ships have that so far

Well if the app is correct, Windjammer is open for dinner tonight on Allure, Anthem, Brilliance, Enchantment, Explorer, Freedom, Harmony, Independence, Jewel, Liberty, Mariner, Oasis & Quantum. That’s 13 out of 22 ships.

I have read where others are able to look at ship offerings of ships not booked.  If it is easy to explain and you don’t mind, I would appreciate you showing.

On this page, you want the person icon (above the ‘da’ in Florida) …

On the next page you’ll see a link to Select a Different Sailing. At the bottom of that page, below the list of your upcoming cruises, there’s a link to Get More Details on Ships We Support. That takes you to a list of all the ships, and when you select one it’ll bring up a list of all its upcoming cruises.

Love hearing that.  We just got off Allure and we were right at 50%, loved seeing more people around the ship, it was great.

Just got off Allure OTS.  (Nov 7-14th)  We were at 59.8% of rated capacity according to the Cruise Director.

It felt great - not to busy & not to empty.  VERY FEW kids...like under 75 that we could see...

Venues were super easy to get into and out of.  The new muster was awesome.  Service was top notch...

Curious.  Thinking of booking Harmony.  Were there many non-vaxed on board?  We just got off the Celebrity Millennium and there was only one child, so the rest of us had been vaxed.

Don't think you will see the demand return to pre-COVID times till masking and testing goes away. And they aren't stopping with giving cabins away anytime soon....that already is continuing well into 2022.

I think masking will go away once 5-11 group is required to be vaccinated.  I think testing will stay for a while. And it’s super easy with the online test kit for $69 for 2 people.

Different note - Does appear that while there are lots of cabins unsold, the suites are pretty heavily booked.

There's definitely kids. Royal opted for the test cruises so they didn't have to restrict kids. They average over 10% of passengers under 12 and didn't want to restrict this. Whether your particular sailing has that many or not - you won't know until you get on board. But I can almost guarantee it's more than 1. Depending on the week it could be a couple dozen or if it's when school is out it could get into the hundreds possibly.

We are also on Symphony now and the ship seems s little to crowded but I guess RCCL is happy.

Oh no! I'm sailing on her in 3 weeks. I was hoping for around a max of 2,500. I cancelled my Feb birthday cruise to sail sooner given projections of passengers increasing. Man, I should have sailed in Sept or Oct when numbers were even lower.  I'm still excited to return before all the masses return next year. Just was hoping for those great lower numbers.

Also, I'm not seeing the cheap prices people are quoting in the comments here. Prices seem to be going up. But, maybe that is true for mainly the itineraries I like. I'm not a fan of Western Caribbean itineraries and there are a ton of sailings for that. So, I skip over looking at those prices. Makes sense that they would be cheaper though.

I think it will be natural to see larger sailing capacity in the holiday season. The real questions will be answered com Jan and Feb when it was harder to fill ships in the pre Covid times.

I think based on that info we will see how well the cruise lines are really doing because the glut of people with FCC might be more cleared out, and there will be no holidays during those months.

If we see Jan and Feb continue to trend up that’s a great sign for the industry. If they stagnate, other ideas will start to be discussed depending on the mood of the country due to a number of factors. Not just the virus.

Suites are sailing full....Royal makes good money with suites. Either they are selling them out or using Royal Up to fill what doesn't sell.

there will be plenty of unvaxxed kids on holiday sailings (school's out). Other than that - should be a lot fewer kids.

Royal already has casino and travel industry rates available on tons of sailings out as far as Nov 2022....so not so sure you will have an accurate picture of true consumer demand.

Brilliance and Enchantment aren't sailing yet.
