We were on a ten night Pacific Coastal cruise departing from San Diego in May, 2018.  While there is always a lot of military traffic in the air and harbor at San Diego it seemed like there was more than usual. Then folks realized that there was a submarine on the surface leaving behind us.  Truly is an unusual sight, but there must be other CC regulars who have also seen subs in San Diego.  Anyone else spot one there?

Saw it once sailing out of Norfolk, Va. on the old Bermuda Star around 1986.

Years ago on the Big Red Boat there was a submarine sailing right alongside the ship while we sailed into port. Cool Sight!!!

Went through the PC beside one back in 1999 on the Maasdam.  The sailors stood atop the sub in the locks and waved to the pretty young ladies who worked in the spa.  Good memory.

The Big Red Boat we sailed on was the SS Atlantic back in 1989, 32 years ago....our first cruise. Yes, it had Disney characters and was the forerunner of Disney starting up their own Line.

Yes, we sailed it early 90s with the Disney characters before Disney cruise line. They then got Bugs and company.

We have seen submarines on two Celebrity cruises.  A French sub off the Atlantic coast of France and two Spanish subs docked at their country club in Cartagena Spain.
