Since he didn't find the story first he'll never be convinced.

Ship has stop at Grand Cayman before any other ports, have 100% of the crew and pax vaccinated, and have a pcr or antigen test 2 days before embarkation.

Seems like a good plan.

I guess Holland didn't get the memo, either. Georgetown isn't listed as the first port stop.

However, it does appear to be a true rumor, for now. Even the roll call has noticed - and hasn't been officially notified of the itinerary change.

The Nieuw Statendam was approved to call on Grand Cayman in accordance with the following negotiated conditions:

  1. Grand Cayman must be the first port of call.
  2. Passenger capacity is limited to a maximum of 1,600 representing 60% capacity of the vessel.
  3. All guests and crew having the final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the beginning of the cruise.
  4. All guests must have a negative viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken within 2 days of their embarkation.
  5. All guests and crew going ashore must observe local requirements for wearing the require PPE such as facial masks and 6 feet physical distancing.
  6. No unwell guests or crew will be allowed ashore.

and how fast does Carnival update their website when there is a change? they certainly aren't fast about it, that's for sure.

I give. How fast does HAL update their site? The decision was made late last week. We'll see if it sticks. HAL is still selling the old itinerary.

How slow is HAL to notify booked cruisers of an itinerary change?
