CaribbeanLover22 Posted November 23, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2021 Has anyone done this excursion? I was really hoping to book a private excursion to go to the volcano and mud baths, but don't know if we will be able to yet so want to book a back up with Royal in case we have to go through them still come February. Wondering if this excursion goes to the mud baths, the "Overview" doesn't sound like it, but the "Highlights" does. Not sure if there's a typo or something or what. "Overview" on Royals site: Depart the Castries Harbor for a fun cruise onboard a 16th Century replica of a Spanish Galleon along the Island's West coast to Soufriere with the view of the majestic Pitons. Visit Morne Coubaril Estate for tour and buffet lunch. Cruise to one of the bays for time spent swimming and relaxing before returning to your ship. SLI0 "Highlights": Scenic cruise: Journey along the west coast onboard a comfortable replica Spanish Galleon. Majestic Pitons: Behold this St. Lucia icon upon entering Soufriere Bay; board a bus to the world’s only drive-in volcano. Sulfuric mud baths: Soothe your body and mind at the therapeutic hot mineral mud baths.
reedprincess Posted November 24, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2021 It's interesting that cruise lines are requiring people to only take ship's tours in St Lucia - considering the county doesn't require it at all for fully vaccinated cruise passengers! That's a shame. Hopefully they get out if their own way soon! Yes - reading those descriptions, it's one or the other - volcano and mud baths OR Morne Coubaril plantation tour (history, cocoa demonstration, etc).... Neither one includes both .. So, which appeals more - mud baths or historical plantation tour with a bit about cocoa making, etc here on island? Enjoy, whichever you choose. . FYI, vaccinated passengers are not restricted to ship's tours in St. Lucia. Current Royal Caribbean protocols in place through December also permit unaffiliated "government approved" tours so one can book with an independent tour operator whose services have been approved. After December perhaps even those restriction will have been lifted.

This is the description for the same excursion listing on Royal's website. That's why I am confused, it seems like a description for two different excursions. Hoping we can do the one I booked through excursioneer instead, but want to have a Royal one booked for backup in case.

I'm hoping it will be lifted after December, but want to be prepared in case it's not.

Cruise lines can, and have, set their own policies.
