Sky Suite, Celebrity Suite or Royal Suite

I am thinking of booking the 4 nights Bahamas cruise from Miami with Summit the 2nd of December. I will travel solo and have desided to splurge on a suite. I have 3 choices, S2 category sky suite, celebrity suite and the royal suite. The cost of the cabins:

Sky suite: USD1900

Celebrity suite: USD2600

Royal suite: USD2990

So which one would you recommend to me? What is the different suite perks between them? As of what I have found out it is that the CS and RS have the specialty restaurants included and the 2 bottles of liquor, are is it anything else? It would be nice with a larger balcony with a jacuzzi, but is it worth it?…

I checked available cabins and the SkySuite I saw was was a Guarantee, didn’t include drinks,  wi-fi or paid gratuities so that would eliminate the SS for me.

We like the CS with the large living room with  lots of windows, although balcony is narrow  The RS includes specially dining& liquor set up at a cost of $100 more per night.  Luminae is great so we only go to the specialty restaurants on rare occasions.  The liquor set up is great if you are on a longer cruise, or sailing with a group you want to have in for drinks.
I would choose the CS ( our favorite) and save $400, .  If you want to go to a specialty restaurant cost is about $50.

We're just back from a Summit sailing in a Celebrity suite and loved it.  We've been in a CS on many S-class ships, but this was the first time on an M-class ship... and found the CS on the Summit to be great... nice layout, wrap-around floor-to-ceiling windows, etc.  Some of the staff we met on the Summit (e.g., Retreat Lounge concierge, butler... now called Personal Suite Concierge, etc) said they like the CS even more than the Royal suite.  I will admit that I didn't actually go into an RS so I can't comment on that.  But we just booked another cruise on an M-class ship, and chose a Celebrity suite.

I agree I'd do a Celebrity Suite over a Royal on M class but would choose Royal on S class ships.   Specialty dining on M class ships is very limited so wouldn't make much use of that.   The price difference between CS and RS is not that much so to me it would really come down to how valuable the extra perks for being in the high end RS would be to you.

Thank you for your thoughts, I apreciate it:-)

Whats drag me more towards the RS is the bigger balcony with the tub, is the interior almost the same as the CS? Is there any other difference between the two suites regard the cabin/balcony it self? There are a couple of good specialty restauramts there as well I will book, but off course , the restaurants alone is not worth the 400 in difference between the two.

We had a Celebrity Suite booked on our Summit cruise earlier this month but when I read the reviews about the bathtub height, we moved to a Royal Suite.   WE LOVED IT!   We lived on the balcony and had breakfast and cocktails their every day.     Here's a video my husband took of our Royal Suite #6142

The difference between a RS and a CS on M class is:  separate tub & shower in RS, in CS you need to go through the bedroom to access the bathroom (although if you're sailing solo, that shouldn't be an issue).  Hot tub on balcony in RS, not in CS.  Personally, I'd take the RS any day over the CS.  And, as others have noted, the amenities are different.

I know it is just some days to the cruise, but will the butler get in contact with me regards the minibar set upp and the choice of liquor? Or do I have to contact Clebrity? In that case, abyone who have contact info?

I have downloaded the app and did the pre check in, just waiting for my vaccine record to be accepted, and have to the health check 24 hours before boarding the ship. I should do some reservations in the app, it seems like this is not possible? I thought I could prebook the specialty restaurants before the cruise?

I have USD400 on board credit that I got with my booking. At the website it says that this is pre cruise credits? I guess I can choose to use this credit when I get onboard the ship? I honestly dont know what to use them on. I got the beverage and dining package all ready included, anyone have some recomenndations here? I have been thinkin maybe to book the Chefs table and the champagne dinner, can I use the credit for this? And anyone who have tried these two dinner nights? Is it recommendable?

Finaly, when I did the pre check in, the earliest check in/health check was at 1PM. I am ready to board the ship as early as possible, I am staying at a hotel near the cruise port the night before so can be at the terminal as early as possible. Can I just be there earlier even if the earliest check in was at 1PM? And is there a suite check in at the terminal? I will take a uber from my hotel, is it easy to see this check in place?

It's Terminal G and you can get there at 11 ish and you'll be fine.  Yes, you can use the onboard credit for both the Chef's Table and the Veuve Cliquot champagne dinner (I'm going to it in about 30 minutes).  That's 2 of 4 nights.  Try Luminae one night.  You should have no problem getting into Tuscan or Le Petit Chef the other night.  Have fun!

Thank you, appreciate it:-)

If you dont mind, please get back to me regard the Veuve Clicot champagne dinner.

Any preferances between Le Petit Chef and Tuscan? I guess these two have just open for dinner, no lunch? Planning to try the sushi place for lunch one day.

With just 4 nights the main dining room have to wait? I guess I will find what they serve there in Luminae as well? I would like to have lobster one night and a nice steak:-)

I was just calling the retreat phone at Celebrity and she said that the earliest checkin was at noon, is this correct? I would love to be there earlier than that...

Basically, you can use the on board credit for anything you might purchase on the ship.  It is a credit on your account.  Balanced against the debits.  You may also use it for extra gratuities for your butler, cabin attendant, and waiter.  The suite concierge can help you with this.  Since you will be in a suite, the tips in Luminae are pooled.  Everyone in that dining room works hard together to ensure that you have a wonderful experience.

Normally, you should receive a call from the shoreside concierge to sort out your requests.  Around two weeks prior to your sailing.  Don't know if they call overseas or not.  Don't worry, if you don't hear from a concierge, your butler will sort everything out for you on board.

I wouldn't rush to order extra restaurant experiences.  I suggest eating in Luminae the first evening.  You may find the experience so pleasant that you will have no wish to dine elsewhere.  I find Le Petit Chef to be a gimmick and Tuscan to be very pedestrian.  I've had better food and service in the main dining room than in Tuscan.  And you can order off the main dining room menu in Luminae.  I would much rather dine in Luminae.

Very excited for you and it seems you are excited too!!!!

Don’t bother with the main dining room because you can do that on any cruise and as you’re there for four nights there’s so many other places to go.

If I were in the RS I’d be there an hour before boarding time because of the excitement and I’d hate to be late!

Enjoy.

Sincere best wishes for a fantastic cruise!

I think many of us after the last few difficult years are willing to pay a bit more than usual at present, particularly to experience things on our bucket list!

Life is here to enjoy, make the most of your suite experience.

We boarded the Summit recently and if you arrive about 11:30 you should have not trouble being escorted through the check in experience and getting onboard promptly.

There is a suite entry door if you follow the sidewalk all the way down to the left when facing the terminal.  There will be a Retreat banner on the sidewalk.

The shoreside concierge should be contacting you by email or phone.

I agree with others that Luminae would be my dining venue of choice for the majority of my meals.  Tuscan can be good (or not) but the room itself is not all that appealing to me.   On S class ships with the entire aft glass view my opinion might be different.   LePetit Chef while cute I've never heard rave reviews of the food.

To me the dining experience in Luminae would be much better for a Solo cruiser.

Here's one...  there are two different menus and the one time we went it was the one with Filet & Lobster.  It was excellent.  It was the only time we went outside Luminae for dinner and we loved it.  However, we went with a large group from our roll call (this was a TA prior to Covid) and that made it even more enjoyable.  I do agree probably not the venue for a solo cruiser.

Completely agree!  We just got off the Summit this morning and ate at LePetit Chef last night and the food was amazing!  Best of any night on this trip!  Our menu was the Crab Farfalle and Filet and both were outstanding.  The brownie dessert was meh 😑.

Our experience in Tuscan was also excellent.  We have mixed reviews for Tuscan in the past but on Summit, it was wonderful.  My DH had the branzino  and thought it was perfectly executed.

Also, we arrived about 12 (check in time was 12:30) and there was a “suite” person who walked us up through security and to finish the check-in process.  Then we had someone walk us directly to our room.

Enjoy!!

Do you think I will enjoy it as a solo traveler?

Got an email today from Celebrity regard bid for ugrade. The minimun bid for the Penthouse is USD4500 pr person, so USD9000 for me. Is it worth it to put in a bid, and how much do you think I have to put in for a minimum? Big difference between this to suites?
