@Saint Greg....say it isn't so....seems like its over and it just began!

By the time I got my first coffee this morning you are in your car on the way home!  BUMMER.

This review/cruise was outstanding and the time seemed to just fly by faster than usual.

Safe travels home, hope to see you over on the TRIBE thread.

@Saint Gregthoughts on Vista vs sister ships?  You mentioned several differences and because we did the NYC cruise on Vista and it was so crowded we stayed in Havana area and ate breakfast in Ocean Plaza.  Actually Havana bar also had breakfast items too.

I like this class of ships for meal options because we rarely do MDR for dinner but think Carnival needs to do better for the sports bar and actually have snacks to purchase there like they use too and PLEASE make the Alchemy area bigger!

I like the Teppanyaki and smokehouse..mainly for the bloody Marys…on Panorama. I think I like the Hero’s bar on panorama better as well. Though the skybox isn’t a bad option. I like the multiplex better on vista than a trampoline park on panorama. I like having the 02 up with the other kids clubs on panorama Better than down by the casino and sports bar on vista.

Really it sounds crazy I know…but I think my favorite would be horizon and I’ve never been on it. But I believe it has the Teppanyaki, pig and anchor, and the multiplex. I think it has the best mix of things I like when it comes to the differences amongst sister ships.

I agree that the Horizon is the best of the three sisters. 😎

Don’t they normally have you pick it up or deliver it the night before?  Is this because you’re porting in Galveston?

You collect your alcohol on ship but if you're sailing out of Galveston the TABC rules indicate there are additional taxes assessed on alcohol you purchased while out of Texas. So if you're carrying off booze you're supposed to go to that spot Greg showed, give them your TABC form, pay the extra tax and then carry on.

If it's still the way it always was pre-pandemic it's pretty much on the honor system, unless you are carrying a box clearly containing alcohol! That's a dead giveaway.

But I know many people carrying alcohol off a Galveston-based ship who just put it in their suitcase or carry-on and just keep on walking... again, pre-pandemic, I can't say if things have changed.

You're correct about Teppanyaki, P&A, and the IMAX on the Horizon.  We stayed in the Havana area in an inside cabin on two different 8 day cruises  (Aug 18 & 19) and had a great time.

And they ask the smokers for 15.00 per carton.

Curious as to what the differences will be between the Mardi Gras, Celebration and the Jubilee.  Obviously the French Quarter will be different.

I think the French Quarter will be the main difference. I would expect it to be different themes on each ship. Apart from that I’m hoping for a return of JiJi’s and a real sports bar.
