montecarloss Posted November 28, 2021 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2021 Over time, any video poker has a better payout percentage than any slot machine. At any given moment you may get lucky on any machine. To each his own.🤑

Rare BermudaBound2014 Posted November 28, 2021 #6 Share Posted November 28, 2021 Unfortunately, Cruise lines have to recap the billions of dollars they have lost. I'm afraid we will be paying for covid for many years to come (and not just in the leisure industry). 😞
skeeter195 Posted November 29, 2021 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2021 Those current payouts now make the game unplayable. The only way to possibly make money now is to hit and run here and there. Long sessions are no longer a good strategy at these payouts.

As far as I can tell, it is now 7/5 instead of 8/5. Any changes for the rest of the games? Is JoB still 7/5?

They actually improved the ddb paytable when i sailed earlier this year. $5 ddb ($25/spin) is now 9/6, which is 99% return!

That's one reason I pretty much play (real) roulette if I feel like gambling. I understand the odds, and how the 0/00 gives the house about a 5.2% cut in the action. Anything electronic is just too nebulous in the odds, and assumes that the cards distributed are truly "random."

(maybe the joy got the coca-cola upgrade, but not the VP downgrade?) no self respecting casino manager, on land or sea, would put in a 7/5 paytable at the $1 or $5 denomination and expect people to play that. you might expect to see 7/5 at quarters (unplayable), 8/5 at $1 (marginal, considering where you are) and 9/5 at $5. Just FYI my survey of the cruise lines VP is showing that JoB is 6/5 at 0.25 denom almost across the board…… So it does sound, at this point, that NCL has the best paytables for VP among all the cruise lines…… what I do like for VP is that, like slots, you can see the points you accrue on VP vs table games. The points you get on VP is also very much more transparent vs table games where the rating is by the pit boss and pretty subjective…
