Bringing wine onboard

It depends on if they notice the difference in size when going through the scanner. Most times they won't but I would hate to lose a bottle over some technicality.

Last cruise we had them question the cans of soda we had in our luggage (thinking it was beer). I told them to go ahead & open the suitcases & they just let us pass.

You might get away with it if you are b2b, but risky IMO.  I have frequently taken 2 x 750 for a b2b with zero problems.

Surely it depends on the security staff. If they are not Princess employees, they could not care less - all they are looking for are guns, knives etc.

The same applies with security at foreign ports when going ashore - if on your return your bags go through the scanner in the terminal, as opposed to the one on the ship, no one will check for alcohol.

I am aware that people use rum runners - can't see the point  as in Europe, at least, checking for alcohol is a non event, especially because  as so many pax are on the PP deal  there is no need to bend the rules.
