OBC usage pre-cruise

Finally Carnival did something right!

 

I was booking some specialty dining for my next cruise (Panorama, 4/2 for my BIRTHDAY!) I had a lot of OBC to use and was kind of frustrated that I couldn't use it for my pre-cruise purchases but it gives you that option now! Yay, Thanks Carnival!

How could you tell? I just was doing a mock steakhouse reservation and it didnt charge me, but it also didnt say to use OBC. I also didn't want to hit finalize since it was just a pretend booking.

I read that they were trying this out on a few ships. Not sure what ones.  Hopefully, soon to all ships.

Yes! I just checked my options for my March cruise on Mardi Gras, and I was able to book a cooking class, as well as water and strawberries for our room. I had to do 2 separate transactions before it would work-food and beverage for 1 and cooking for the other, but I didn't have to pay! It gave me the option to "Use Onboard Credit" and boom.

When does the option appear? When I get to the "Complete Purchase" stage, I don't see the option to use OBC.

So glad they finally did this.  I just booked all the specialty restaurants I wanted for my Horizon cruise using my OBC.  

 

FYI, it shows up when you get to the payment page, where you would normally enter your credit card info.

Is this new feature fleet wide, or just on selective ships? This would be great if it were for all Carnival ships in the fleet.

From what I've read, it starts March 15th. I can't figure out why, if it works, it can't be implemented now! Would LOVE to have that option for my 2/26 cruise. 😞

I just now booked the Steak House Restaurant, using OBC for our October cruise!

Just checking our April 2022 Paradise cruise and the OBC option was there to use to pay for WIFI package.

I tried to book a spa treatment and then again a shore excursion for our January cruise on the Legend.  Sadly, there was no option for using OBC.

No option for us on the Breeze next month.  Oh well.  Glad others can take advantage of this.  Will need to book other things when we are onboard.  Can't wait to sail again!!!

No option on our February Freedom cruise.  Interesting how it seems to be hit and miss for some ships and dates.

I BELIVE I READ THAT OBC CAN BE USED TO SPEND PRE CRUISE AFTER MARCH 15, 2022. SO I GUESS THAT IS WHY YOU COULD USE IT FOR YOU APRIL CRUISE
