  2. On a recent cruise, we were travelling (from home to ship-driving & flying times, over 9 hours) with meds that needs to get into the room fridge (while waiting for the actual portable medi fridge to be delivered). We found our room Steward & got his ok to pop into our unfinished room for the fridge. We noticed there were 2 clothing items still in the otherwise empty room. When the announcement was made, that the “rooms are open”..those items were still there. We notified our Steward & he removed them. Short story is…don’t blame the Steward for taking your backpack…it could have been any one walking the hall on changeover day or the next passenger in that room.
  3. There’s always a chance that someone is sick, injured, family issues, work issues..many reasons why someone would/could cancel.
  4. Our sailing is this May….we are scheduled to dock at the Hiroshima Ujina Port - Passenger Terminal. In an Industrial area, 3 KM from city center.
  5. Thanks for the coffee bar menue! My daughter is a coffee girly & I’m all about the tea, we will have the regular drink pkg….will the coffee bar beverages be included with our pkg?
  6. We don’t drink either…preparing for our 10th Carnival cruise. We also cruise with Celebrity & Royal Caribbean, we really don’t see much of a diff (we don’t hang out at the night club or the bars on the ships & are usually in our room by 11:30). If you are really worried about any “rowdy party attitude”, don’t do short (3-4 day sailings).
  7. If you are meaning…Rio Secreto River & Caves, on the mainland near Playa del Carmen… it was the absolute best excursion we have ever taken. In a heartbeat, we would go again & again!
  8. We did the same excursion in May. I did contact the excursion supplier, since we too wanted to stay there longer. I was told that there are multiple busses going from ship & back through the day & that it would be fine if we wanted to take a later one back to the ship. We were told to confirm when we got on the bus & again at the “beach resort”. We did take the 8:30 bus (to give us the best choice of loungers), by 12:30 we were ready to head back…so I wasn’t able to confirm that a later return time would have worked.
  9. Thanks for catching that ! Every way that I tried looking up the actual company that runs the Edinburgh cruise ports, I was directed back to Cruise the Forth. I did email “Capital Cruising” & I hope to get a clear answer.
  10. Does anyone have any insight into this…? Carnival itinerary says the Legend will be in Edinburgh on Aug 7/24. Cruisemapper.com agrees with the Carnival agenda. Cruise the Forth (the company that operates the Edinburgh cruise ports), doesn’t have the Legend listed in their schedule. NOT AT ALL!…for any of the dates from start of cruise thru to the end of cruise. I emailed Cruise the Forth with this info, hoping for clarification. They agreed that the situation is confusing…”the port visit is on Cruise mapper, but not on their own posted schedule”. They also stated that when the Legend does visit, she usually is at the Newhaven tender port. I contacted Carnival (was transferred to the FUN shops & shore excursion dept), but they haven’t been notified of a port change. I want to buy Edinburgh castle tickets (non refundable), (doing a ship excursion isn’t what I want, I want more time than the excursion allows) but I also don’t want to throw away my $$. Amy thoughts?
  11. We booked a specific sailing with our regular PVP….it was a Casino offer. We didn’t know it at the time, but the special Casino Offer came with lots of gifts. Almost every day we had a surprise in our room….choc strawberries/plate of cookies/packing cubes/bucket hats/laundry-shoe bags….all with a note from the head casino host.

  13. We ask the travel agent / Customer Service to add them when we book.
  14. Your Travel Agent should have / could have booked that for you when you reserved your stateroom….if not, give them a call….I’ve always had that request at booking.
  15. Yes you can, order from the kids menue anytime..anywhere. With that in mind, if u are dining in a “pay venue”, I’m not sure if an adult can get child pricing-even if ordering from a child menue (we don’t travel with kids anymore).
  16. We’ve had great luck with privacy during My Time Dining, going early (5:30-6:00) & asking to sit along the railing overlooking the downstairs dining room. This only works if there is a 2 level dining room, of course.
  17. There are no penalties for cancelling the pre-paid excursions. I always cancel 1 at a time, then immediately re-book (whether it’s for a price change, or if you find something better, or maybe you don’t want an excursion at all). Just be aware, if you are wanting to price change an excursion that is “sold out”, you do risk the chance that for the brief moment it takes to re-book your excursion, someone may book it for themselves….in that case, I would consider contacting your Travel Agent if you used one, or the cruise line direct & have them reprice it for you…explaining that it’s a “sold out” excursion & you don’t want to loose it to someone else in the process.
  18. Other than my emailed invoice, where do I find my Celebrity AI pkg ? Previously I was poking around my online acct & found every purchase that is on my acct….the included perks (showing 0.00 & the pre-booked excursions), now I can’t find it again…can anyone help?
  19. Thanks so much for the timely update! I rebooked 2 excursions for price change & the 3rd excursion I totally changed to something I wanted, but wouldn’t pay the original price!
  20. On a recent cruise, we made friends…most happened to have ship wifi, on one of the last few days I asked if I could use their phone/wifi to check in for our flight. We agreed to meet at the specific airline check in time (with all of our pertinent info). If that hadn’t worked, we were going to ask about a 1 day wifi pass (which our last cruise with RC did have). Otherwise we were planning to use the cruise port terminal free wifi when we arrived.
  21. Me too….I click Fly2fun & it tells me error….must call as no flights were found (I hadn’t even entered dates yet).
