Super Bowl on Carnival

Has anyone cruised during the Super Bowl?  We will be on the Mardi Gras for Super Bowl Sunday.  I wanted to know if they show the game on the large outside screen.  We have been on the Mardi Gras four times and the sports bar got mobbed for the regular Sunday games.  Cant imagine what it will be like for the Super Bowl.  I had gone to guest services on my last cruise to ask if the game will be shown on the outside jumbo screen and they told me they did not know if they would be able to, as they would need special licensing to do that???  I was told it would be on in the sports bar and the tv's in the casino.  If anyone has cruised for a prior Super Bowl, did they show it outside on the big screen?  Maybe they will show it in the theatre (and charge admission) lol.

They will show it. There would be a revolt if they didn't. On ships without (and maybe with) the outside screen, they show it in the main show lounge, and no, no admission charge. Carnival can show anything they want to pay for, and they will pay for the Super Bowl (but not for in cabin TVs).

You can find some videos on Youtube.

Thanks. I guess we will watch in the show lounge.  The youtube videos said it was very chilly outside, being at night in February.

Have sailed twice during superbowl.  The first was on the Sunshine the second time was on the Magic. Both times it was shown on the big screen.  Both times it was a mad rush to get lounge chairs and most people staked them out first thing in the morning and sat in them all day.  I actually saw one family use a long bike lock to hook 4 chairs together and the chairs remained empty most of the day before the game.  No one said a word to them - I was really shocked to see it allowed.  We had four adults both times and just shared 2 lounge chairs.  The first time we booked by accident the second time it was timed with our college aged spring break.  The best place we have found to watch the football games is at the sports bar.  If you can get a seat.  We did this in late September and it was really fun but alot of standing room only - there wasn't any social distancing going on for sure.

We watched the Superbowl on the Dream back in 2019.  What a way to watch the game!!

I was on this cruise too. There were plenty of spots to watch it. The lido deck and theater were the most popular. They left BlueIguana and Guys open later those days (but were supposed to do other apps instead). It was fun.

The only thing I didn't like is that the famous Superbowl commercials weren't there. It was the same 5 or so ads repeating during every break, which was a bit annoying. To be fair, the commercials aren't as fun as they used to be anyways. Too much politics anymore.

Wow, I am sure it was amazing, especially knowing that you basicly got unlimited supply of beer and chips. Last time I enjoyed such an occasion was like 5 years ago in some bar in Mexico.. good memories

On the Ecstasy one year for the Super Bowl, I can't remember the year, they showed the game in the casino, on all the TVs around the ship, and in the main lounge. The main lounge had a buffet of wings, nachos, and of course plenty of bar service. The rest of the ship was fairly empty - not sea day level empty but close.
