Has NCL banned smoking in the casinos for now?

I know some other lines have and on ABC news yesterday NCL was mentioned as one of the lines choosing to ban smoking for now.  I did not see anything on the NCL site or while doing a quick google search.  Does anyone know for sure?  Recent cruisers maybe?

Unless they changed the policy within the last week, which is possible because that's when they put in the mask rules, smoking was permitted in certain areas of ships.

on the Escape they have

I also can confirm on the Escape there is no smoking in the casino. You can smoke in the humidor lounge but it is frowned upon if you are not smoking cigars. There are designated smoking areas on the ship but I forget where they are other than to the right of the bar at H20 Spice adult section as I don't smoke.

just returned from Joy and there was no smoking in the casino, however i did see a closed off area in a section of the casino that im pretty sure was for smokers.  I never saw anyone in there, but we also werent in the casino that much.  Cant imagine why else they would do something like that.  Think the plexiglass areas of some airports they have for smokers.

Sounds like the setup on the Bliss.  There was an enclosed "casino within a casino" for smokers.  I don't smoke and, since the main casino floor wasn't in a constant cloud of smoke, I spent a lot more time in the casino than I ordinarily do.

Glad to hear the Joy is similar, as that's my next cruise in October.

I will say, we very rarely smelled smoke on the Joy.  The only time i can remember is when we were on the top pool deck and some guy just lit up a cigarette.  Definitely not a smoking area, but he was way drunk and there was most likely going to be an incident if anyone, including the crew approached him.  One of the crew members came around an apologized after he left.

Pretty much all cruise lines have suspended smoking in the casinos with all of the indoor mask mandates they’ve implemented. I assume it’ll come back once the mask mandates go away, which will be whenever the numbers come back down……..

On the masked Breakaway cruise earlier this month, no one was smoking.  There wasn't a 'no smoking' sign in the casino but no ashtrays were out.  The casino host told us they were sending smokers outside to smoke.

Yes there were…… no smoking signs all over the casino on Breakaway on the early December cruise…. You know….. the one where we sat in the chair terminal for over 6 hours waiting for CDC to decide if we could board!!

That was definitely the same cruise.    I don't know how we missed those signs🤔

My DH says he doesn't remember seeing signs either.....guess we were too distracted by the lack of crowds in the casino.  It was a fun week with two handpays and a couple of 800 to 900 Majors☺️
