I have been in communication with a young mother whose son tested positive on day 2. He and his father went to the quarantine cabin and the mother and other child were put in isolation in their cabin for five days. The three tested negative and she was begging for a covid test while in isolation to prove they were safe. I was heartbreaking to hear of the no/bad information she was given during this period. So, yes they will isolate you if one of your travel group tests positive.

Do they have guards at the door? If i did not test + and they isolated me, I would go off. Then they would have to put me in the brig and lock the door until the cruise is over.

This cruise line would not have me back as a passenger, as I would be banned.

Happy sailing everyone!

Actually, they removed a family for refusing to submit to testing. I don't know the whole story but the captain and his security forces can pretty much enforce any policy they wish. The law of the sea.

I wonder what would happen if @Luke gs Daddy did that while ship is docked at OC (last 2 days of the cruise).....

Would they kick him off at OC?? or wait till port Canaveral and try to get local PD involved for some "disorderly conduct" bs charge?

I am with you. Especially if I was not given a supply of booze to keep me calm.

They would have to put me in the brig.

So here's the plan.....in the casino, I will find someones card that left it in a machine and allow that to be scanned all the time.😮

My understanding is that the Italians arent as passive with angry karens as your local American business. Probably wouldnt go well for you at all

But we are governed by US law as port of embarkation. When you return to port you are turned over to US authorities not Italian.

I just saw from a Facebook group post that someone who is currently on the Meraviglia is saying that lots of things are closed including the ability to sit at bars, the production shows, the shows in the Carousel lounge, the DJ outside, etc.  Anyone else currently on this sailing who can give us another account of what is actually going on?  I was on in Dec and things were mostly "normal" aside from some distancing markers and mask wearing when walking around the ship.  I am boarding again on Jan 16th and I'm now second guessing my decision to book....

I just received a text about our 1/9 sailing on Meraviglia. Gives us the option to cancel for a full refund or find another cruise if we don't wish to go 1/9. We were on in November and things were fine. We saw all the shows so wouldn't be upset if we miss those. We will most likely go. We live in Florida and drive to the port so no worries about getting home.

Can you please keep us posted as to how things are during boarding and also on the ship?  Would be much appreciated!

Congratulations!!!! Now y’all please don’t go around spreading Covid as patient zero 🤪

We are rethinking it now.

I called to cancel and they offered me 30% off to go. I said no, they offered 50%.

We are thinking about going now especially since we are in YC. We have 2 days to decide now.

Very tempting. YC deluxe suite for under 2k.

getting kicked off OC would not be bad, I have my passport to get me home some day.

Getting a disorderly charge on a ship, someone would need to come to a US court and I doubt that.

I was wondering how they enforce trying to make you stay in a cabin.

We cruise Jan, 16 so if you read about a crazy passenger in the news, it will probably be me.

Maybe covis will be over by then.

I’m booked on the 1/23 sailing and am hoping for the option to cancel for a refund. Things looked great when I booked, now, not so much.

Us, too. We are booked on 1/23 and are on the fence, too.  Would love to cancel with a refund possibility... or get the 50% off 🙂

Great news you can now cancel.

The offer of 50% would be great if it was not MSC.

Not sure how they will reimburse you for difference but, spending the week onboard trying to get the OBC ( if that is the offer) to post to account sounds like a pain. You have already spent so much time last cruise dealing with Concierge.

Not sure I would trust the offer, my feeling is they just want you on the ship. After sailing, they may consider it a closed booking.🙄

Hi Pat,

They are taking back the 50% it seems. The phone rep did not realize I was on with a 30% discount already. I never asked about how they would reimburse the difference. Am waiting to see what they actually will offer. I assume just anoth 20% as that will match the 50% as I already have 30% off.

I still have not settled the Salsa issue and they will get to deal with me again on board. I can say that it has officially been escalated as I have 2 SR numbers and was actually contacted and asked a few questions.

I still am not being charged a daily service charge.

Stay safe

Hello fellow cruisers,

We are on the Meraviglia Jan 20 for 3 nights. When would you suspect we would get an email for a chance at a refund? We need to check in by the 18th so am thinking we would wait it out. But you think it pays to call MSC to see if they give us the option for a refund?

I see some on the Jan 9th cruise are getting that option. You think they will do it with all cruises coming up?

Im sure a lot of cruisers are thinking the same way..

I called and was told no and later that same day, yesterday, I did get an email.  THey will wait till the last minute because too many will cancel. Many will be on the way already so they can't cancel. SInce you are on a 3 night, thats hard to predict as ours is a 7 night. If i had to guess, i would say no because you will be tested 2 days prior, at the pier, and they only have 3 nights to worry about an outbreak but there wont be testing as its only 3 nights.

I wonder what they’ll do on the 4 nighters…
