Thank you for doing this - I'm on the 1/31 sailing and this is helping with my excitement.

Reservations for the Windjammer? Does this need to be done through the APP once you've boarded?

Yikes!  Windjammer reservations!  Does this mean no more breezing through to pick up a snack all day?

I am also on this sailing and no reservations have been needed for WJ.    Had a delicious omelet from WJ this morning.

Great reporting.  2 questions, do your room key cards have holes punched for lanyards and are there Zumba classes?

Thanks 😊

no holes for lanyards on ours, they are selling lots of lanyards with the clear pouch for your card though. & no zumba classes ☹️

They didn’t stop us! I can’t get any for the next few days so I don’t think they’re sticking to them too much

Sometimes the Casino will punch a hole. I'll check in 3 weeks.

I am on Anthem now. I did see in the Compass that they list the Windjammer as Reservations Required. We have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner there and have never been asked if we had reservations. I went up tonight and asked the woman working at the entrance and she said reservations are NOT required at any time.

We were on the 12/24 sailing and went to guest services to have holes punched and they refused citing wireless technology in the card that will fail if they punch holes.

I'm sure there is a spot but without an accurate diagram of the circuits not sure where that is.  The lanyards were selling at 2 for $10 which is not a bad price but if you already have a lanyard might want to try Walmart to pick up he plastic pouches which go for a few dollars for a dozen or so.

Use the flashlight on your phone and put it against the card - you should be able to "see" through the card enough to see where the wires and chip are (antenna wire typically about 1/4" in from the edge and chip in the upper right).

Tried to post this last night but had wifi troubles. We aren’t stopping in St Kitts anymore and will be moving St John, Antigua up a day. The announcement last night said it was due to crew testing positive. 2.24% or 3.24% (i didn’t hear it well so not positive which one) of people on board are positive. He said there will be another announcement today at noon. A paper was in our stateroom after dinner with an updated schedule and saying they’re refunding one day’s on board credit because of it, interesting because we didn’t get anything refunded due to missing San Juan. Not sure why but nice of them to do something. Waiting for bingo to start now! 😊

When we cruise, guest services will always punch our cards.

Just curious, do you only cruise out of Baltimore?

On the newest ships, the cards have advanced technology, and many at Guest Services are reluctant to risk harming them.  On the Grandeur or Enchantment, where the system is totally old school - and you can't even see your Seapass account on the TV in your stateroom - it's not an issue.

We have cruised out of Florida many times, but as we have gotten older, (late 70's and early 80's) we prefer cruising from our home port unless we find a good deal.

As far as the other ships, we prefer Freedom class and below.  Have done the Oasis class but just not for us. After the Oasis, we knew any larger ship would not be for us.  I guess you could say "we are old school" 😄

About the keycards - on our cruise in November of last year (HAL) they would not punch holes in the new cards and suggested the lanyards with the plastic pocket.  It worked just as well because the keycards were "touch".  There was no problem holding it up to the lock on the door or paying for things through the plastic.

They are not convenient when playing slots in the casino. When you are tethered to your card, you don't leave it in the machine.

When I was on Anthem in mid November, they told me the references to needing reservations is to try and discourage a just a bit so that folks would go to MDR and use their staff especially for dinner.

They really do not make you have reservations just want to put out the illusion.

One thing that I did not agree with is Stand by lines for shows not being allowed.  But I learned quickly that ya wait about 10 minutes and go to upper level and just walk in.

In fact, some folks moved to upper level who were vaccinated because folks have to distance a bit and wear masks.  I did this myself and actually felt safer on 2nd level with spacing and masks.
