Nassau this morning

Three ships -- two RC -- seemed to approach Nassau early this morning and then turn around and depart.  What's happening?

I just looked on the port Nassau webcam and can see all three departing.

That is the reason I just cancelled two upcoming cruises.

According to the person doing a live from Allure, they were turned away due to wind.

The webcam does sound pretty windy. Looks like the Allure, Indy, and MSC Seashore all tried then high tailed it out. Will be interesting to see if Freedom can tie up at CocoCay.

Yep it's windy as can be out there right now so we're sailing on

We are on the Independence of the Seas right now. No word yet on why we aren’t docked at Nassau as scheduled but we do seem to be sailing away from Nassau.

We are on the Allure right now.  We were also scheduled for Nassau today but not docking.  Our announcement was that high winds prevented us from making the turn into the port.  They said same thing happened with the Independence.

I have missed Nassau a couple times due to bad weather. The entry into Nassau can get nasty.

Yup, on Indy, captain said wind gusts up to 40 mph. It is very windy on the pool deck. Good thing we're B2B, cabin mate has never been to Nassau

The wording on this letter is interesting....this letter was given to passengers denied access to Nassau 2 days ago on Celebrity Apex.

Thanks, everyone.  Looks like the same situation as the five times out of six that we did not get to go to Coco Cay due to winds.  The one time was fun, though, as are sea days.
