Just got off Meraviglia also. You can open your cabin door with either your room card or your NSA/CIA/FBI tracker bracelet

You could have just gone thru my cabin until they closed the divider.

We got home by 830 yesterday.

A question to those recently on MSC Meraviglia.

We were Divina in October the MDR nightly food tasted good but the option was very poor with no beef to choose from (paid only option) and they had only one time on the last formal night (dress your best night) even that the steak was way over done and tough.  Their reason was because of the pandemic.

Did MSC update the MDR menu yet or stay the same even on Meraviglia?.  We want to try MSC again particular Meraviglia while the price is good but second thought about this line.

Thank you.

I was on the Meraviglia, 7 nights,  in October and the Divina, 3 nights, in November 2021.  I believe the meat option in the MDR was an upcharge on the Meraviglia.  Personally, I liked the food more on the Divina. Overall, I liked both and will be on the Meraviglia again in a couple of weeks for a quick 3 day crusie. IMHO, what they lack in food they make up for with their pricing.

We agree while the food is subpar but the cruise price and service will over come for everything else.  Our RCI December was wonderful but for the  price for the same cruise this year is double we probably will go with MSC again because the price and the status match

The Mera will have the same menu as the Divina, with the same Florida based sourcing.  In short, the food will likely be "meh" at best, but if you can overlook it (or budget to go to Butcher's cut a few times) the price of cruise will outweigh it.

IMO you get more than you pay for, especially when compared to other cruise lines.

I thought MSC disabled ability to open ur cabin with the cruise card and only allow the tracker band to open the cabin?  Is that not true?

When I was onboard in December I left my bracelet in cabin only used my key card. Honestly did not realize it was for contact tracing just thought it ugly. Now that I know I might need a fishing magnet @mscdivina2016

Hahah...speaking of fishing and magnets,  totally random but I always wondered if one would catch any fish if they throw a fishing line from a balcony of a cruise ship....

Hopefully things will settle down more when we (hopefully) go on our March rescheduled date...but hell, if my card works to open the room, braclet is going to stay in the room...Unless MSC is offering like 50% casino bonus if I check in with the bracelet at the casino... 😄

The casino was very weird last week.

Any cash in over $100 they asked for my card or room number.

I always said I don't have it with me. Once I said I don't remember my room number and was told with out it they won't cash it.

They were very big on "using" the card in the machine. I did not because I think they could contact trace you that way.

oh boy.  I think I'll probably be a short timer there....just to cash in my OBC.  Know if the various OBCs with voyager club & negative balance gets posted first day?  Would like to cash out first day if possible, in the event I get quarantined and can't go to casino....

On another note, have you visited the thermal suites?  I wonder what times it's busy/quiet.  It looks very nice on the mera..

I went.in and decided against it.

Too much humidity during Covid.  I did not want to take any chances

My son and I were also on this cruise and we had a blast.  We were in 18013 in YC and the service, food, drinks, etc., were outstanding.  My next cruise will also be on Meraviglia in March, as I have fallen in love with this ship and wanted to make sure I had a third cruise on her before she heads back to Europe for the drydock.  I will attach some pictures if the system lets me.

TY for the pics. We are in count-down mode to packing etc

So looking fwd to being back onboard.

We have really enjoyed the Meravigilia as well.

Was the menu and general pace like it was pre-cvd?

I had not sailed on MSC pre-Covid.  My previous experience was all with NCL, with the more recent ones in The Haven there.  I can tell you that I find the Yacht Club on MSC a step or two up on The Haven.  The menu in the YC restaurant changed every day, with a good diversity of food available each evening.  Plus, we also had the option of eating in the lounge when we did not want the formality of the restaurant, or at the Grill on the YC sundeck.  We did eat dinner at Butcher's Cut, Hola!, and Kaito Teppanyaki, and found all three to be excellent.

The pace on our cruise was very laid back as there were only 427 passengers on a ship built for 4488 double occupancy/5386 max capacity.  But I have really enjoyed that atmosphere on both of my Mera cruises and found my IOTS cruise in November to almost feel crowded with 1,800 onboard.  It will be interesting to see what it feels like in a year or two if we ever get back to "normal".
