@graphicguy Thanks for this report. 

 

Can you comment on the WiFi or do a speed test? I’m needing to be on Zoom calls for work on my Apex cruise and I see there’s a lot of conflicting information. 
 

Also, I was wondering about blackjack at the casino. Does blackjack pay 3:2 or 6:5? What are the table limits?

Not sure about exact speeds, but as mentioned, depends on if you’re at sea or docked.  And, depends on where you are on the ship.

 

At sea today.  Guessing down is maybe 1-2mbps….probably same for up.  
 

Zoom calls would be dicey.

 

Stopped at casino for a bit last night to play craps.  Broke even after playing for a couple of hours.  Feel good about that.  GF hit on a slot for approx $600.  All is good.

 

Just glanced at the BJ tables.  Saw $10 and $25 min tables.  Only odds I saw were 6:5.  But, don’t remember which table.

I absolutely LOVED that outside area on EDGE, looks fantastic and relaxing on APEX as well.  Enjoy your cruise!!

The only thing we were disappointed in on Edge and Apex was the internet speed. Seemed maddeningly slow some times. Too slow to even do a Speedtest. 
 

Shouldn’t be for the flagship of the fleet. Talk to Royal and get the O3B internet that Oasis class ships have.

Yeah…found the Western Caribbean route EDGE internet speed to be significantly faster than what I’m experiencing on this route (east) on the APEX!

Apex is a very nice and beautiful ship.

I do hope they look into the WIFI issue.

It happened to my transatlantic cruise but it was working fine with my Western Caribbean cruises.

Streaming WIFi is included for us.  If I paid extra for Premium/Streaming, I’d ask for a refund.

I remember when we were on the Apex in Nov with around 1700, we were getting around 2 - 2.5 mbps with our Steaming service.

Yeah…tried to measure just now.  I can’t even get a speed reading it’s so slow.  Not bad for just text, but it takes a while to download the pages from CC (as an example) that has pics.

 

The video I posted about won’t even play, as I just tried.  Let alone try to “stream” anything.

It might be interesting to know if the speed is any better in the I Lounge.   The last time I was on the Equinox, I went down to the I Lounge to complain about the internet performance.  The I Lounge Rep. told me that she didn't understand the problem because it works well for her sitting in the I Lounge.  I told her that was great but that didn't help me very much.  Later that morning they sent someone to install a temporary router in my cabin that improved performance.  Hopefully that wouldn't be an issue on a new ship.

FWIW when I had trouble using the Ookla speed test on some recent cruises, this Google one always seemed to work.
