VTcruisenut Posted January 28, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2022 Anyone had this happen? Booked a cruise under a special mailer offer under my friend. Both of us booked and paid for. What happens if the person who the cruise special is booked under can't go at the last minute, but the other person in the party still wants to go? As long as the $$$ was paid, will they be allowed to cruise?
firefly333 Posted January 28, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2022 I would post this question in the section for that particular cruiseline. Carnival for instance you booked a casino rate and your friend is a no show you can cruise but wouldnt get any related perks to the rate if she doesnt board. She cant collect insurance or you would be repriced at the solo supplement rate.
VTcruisenut Posted January 28, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted January 28, 2022 Thank you! Yes it is Carnival, and I figured the Casino perks wouldn't be in place- just want to be sure that they wouldn't charge more if only one of us cruises. It's been paid in full since mid-December, but you just never know with the current COVID variant!
Rare sparks1093 Posted January 28, 2022 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2022 Howdy neighbor! When are you heading out? We're leaving on Legend on 2/20 and we can't wait for some warmth and sunshine.
Rare BlerkOne Posted January 29, 2022 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2022 You would have to know the conditions of the offer. Some require the named person to sail.

My understanding is that if the cruise is booked under a casino offer, the passenger that has the offer must go on the cruise. If not, the other passenger is not eligible for the offer, even if the cruise is fully paid for. Maybe check with the Player's Club? If you do, let us know the outcome. I hope you both get to go on your cruise!
