What are you hoping to understand from this data?

I don't pretend to know why the OP asks.  For me, and referencing post #14, I just find it interesting to see the staffing assignments.

It sounds an awful lot like somebody is trying to discuss the business of cruising,  and not cruising itself.

I know the temptation for the ex-mariners is to jump in and tell us how it is,  but remember that cruise critic is for cruisers.

lets stick to the mission here,

First, I have never gotten notification of replies to either of my two threads and, told I would be notified (the "follow topic" toggle turned on), assumed that there were no replies.  Fortunately, I came back to double check and now find replies to both threads.

Second, it is fine that the forum runner doesn't want these discussions here. I have no interest in highjacking any forum.  That is why I asked about this in the other thread.

Third, I have tried using google to find industry, crew, and legal forums but to no avail.  In fact, when googling for them using different search terms (such as "cruise industry forums"), Cruise Critic keeps coming back as the top result in most.  If you have better search terms or can give the name of such forums (ideally links to them), it would be appreciated and I will move onto them and leave this one behind for the desired discussions as outlined in my original post.

Fourth, why I want this information is that I am casually exploring starting cruises that focus on week-long poker tournaments and possibly even starting a cruise ship specifically designed for just that.

I reread your posts and I could not find anything in your questions that related to poker tournaments.  Also as you are probably aware, most of the ships have casinos and I highly doubt that they will let you set up a poker tournament which is a competing business.  Also considering the current state of the cruise industry and the problems that the cruise industry is encountering, it is highly improbable that a new or even newly refurbished ship that is dedicated to poker would be financially successful.  Finally, one of your posts asked questions about crew rosters.  What would this crew roster information have to do with either poker tournaments or starting a new poker oriented cruise ship?

I live in Las Vegas which has lots of poker tournaments.  Anyone who wants to enter a poker tournament is welcome to visit our city and join one.

Again, please tell us why you are really answering your questions.

As I posted on your other thread, the information you are looking for will generally not be found on discussion sites, but more in industry or scholastic studies, and not really part of a "casual" study.  Specifically to this thread, not sure what a "crew list" would have for your research.  Since you are trying to create a "specialty" cruise, the crew jobs needed would be specific to your cruise.

Yes, at my local library and also where I work -- and if you find a good one they can not only find books and journal articles but other online resources as well.

Edited to add: I have had help tracking down very elusive things including archaeological publications in other languages, copies of rare books that can be 'borrowed' from other libraries, etc.
