EnjoyNow! Posted February 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2022 First time cruising to Europe. Have been researching covid testing requirements, but still have questions. If I am understanding everything correctly, it seems fairly complicated to cruise during covid. I know we need a PCR test 72 hours in advance to get to Venice. We were planning on arriving to Venice approx. 36 hours prior to boarding cruise. Which means our first Covid test will be beyond the 72 hour requirement and we would need to take another PCR test in Venice prior to boarding the ship (hoping we get the results in time). On board the ship they require a rapid test, which is fine. But, then we would need another PCR test to fly back to Italy from Croatia, and another from Italy to US? Does this sound accurate? hallasm Posted February 4, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2022 When is your cruise? Might be accurate now but might very well change before your cruise. Many countries in Europe is right now changing requirements for test prior to entry. I'll recommend that you look into requirements 2 to 4 weeks before your cruise. Rare VMax1700 Posted February 4, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2022 Unless you are cruising within the next few weeks, I recommend you 'chill' for a while. The situation will change over the coming months. Already many requirement which were introduced in December, have been withdrawn or lessened. The requirement to have the PCR test before entering Europe will most likely be removed for vaxed and boosted travellers.

That is also an issue as there have been so many delays and as of yesterday they still couldn't provide updated pics or videos of the ship. So, there is also the concern that it won't even sail. But, my main issue with the wait it out is that we have until March 2nd to give the balance of the deposit and cancel without penalty. I can wait a few more weeks, but need to make a decision. hallasm Posted February 4, 2022 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2022 Ritz Carlton yacht will not set sail until May 2022, Vaccination requirements is the least of the problems in this context - more inescapable about and when the Ritz Carlton yacht will start sailing. Personally, I find it rather uncertain about when they will start sailing.
Rare steamboats Posted February 5, 2022 #6 Share Posted February 5, 2022 You don´t need a test anymore for Italy. This was skipped Feb 1st. And you never needed a PCR test. steamboats
