Rare coldweather Posted February 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2022 The current protocol is: "All guests, ages two and above, are required to wear masks at all times when indoors, except when eating or drinking or when in their own staterooms and when outdoors if in large gatherings and physical distancing cannot be maintained. " For those who have already cruised with the mask protocol, how did you carry your mask around the ship? At home I usually have on clothes with pockets or a purse to stow the mask. Much of the clothing I wear on a cruise does not have a pocket. I prefer not to carry a purse or other bag around the ship. What has been successful for you ( and cleanest way) to carry/stow your masks while onboard? Thank you!

TNcruising02 Posted February 12, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2022 I am going on a cruise this month. Since I will constantly have to put on my mask and take it off all day, every day, I bought a face mask lanyard. This seems the easiest way to me to deal with the cruise ship mask mandates. A 10 pack of lanyards is less than $10.
mz-s Posted February 12, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2022 Since you have to have it on pretty much at all times now, I don't see why this is an issue. Just wear the mask.
Beach710 Posted February 12, 2022 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2022 I usually don't carry a purse but last cruise I did so I would have my phone which is basically required now with the hub. So just put it in your purse.

Just wear the mask. Not an issue. I like to spend a lot of time outside. I am picturing "mask off" at the pool. Go inside to get something to eat "mask on." Go from my cabin to outside activity "mask on". Outside activity "mask off" go back to my cabin "mask on" I see a lot of mask on/mask off as I move inside and outside. Agree...if staying inside just wear the mask and don't mess with it.

I use a lanyard for my S&S card and clipped my mask onto the lanyard. Back in November on Freedom, we only had to wear the mask in a few venues. Not throughout the entire ship as now.

Phone, mask, etc. I will need to rethink that.
icft Posted February 12, 2022 #9 Share Posted February 12, 2022 Two ways depending on the moment. 1. I have my Sail and Sign card on one of the lanyards they give out in the casino and just clip it on that. 2. I wear a N95 that has upper and lower straps and I found two ways. I can just pull the upper strap over my head, tug down the mask, and let the mask hang around my neck on the lower strap. Or I find I don't even need the upper strap for the mask to fit tight (no air escaping to fog up my glasses) and just tug the mask down to my neck or up to my face. It is quite quick and easy once you get the hang of it.

I have magnetic hooks I use on the cabin wall by the door. Super easy to hand wash my masks and just hang up - and keeps them easy to find/grab out the door. 2

sunshower9 Posted February 12, 2022 #21 Share Posted February 12, 2022 I wore a mask chain. Since it stayed around my neck and I could just slip the mask on and off easily. You can get cheap ones but I bought a cute sparkly one from Etsy because...well, it was cute and sparkly.
