Meraviglia Yacht Club Pool Deck Cabanas

The last time we sailed on the Meraviglia, February 2020, a cabana on the yacht club pool deck was free for Royal Suite guests. Is this still a Royal Suite perk, or will we have to pay for the cabana?  Either option is fine.  Just want to be prepared for our upcoming cruise in a couple of weeks.

A few weeks ago there was a sign on one of the cabanas that said reserved for ????1 .

I know it was for the RS as I knew who was in it.

On Mera, there are only three.  Forward one is best.  Better shade.  The other RS was upsold and the occupants had butlers in their grip.  Other cabana group of NYers smoking in non smoking area.  YMMV

I bet that the last group you mention may have been from NY, but are in Florida now.  Port St. Lucie or Ponte Vedra.  Loud, self entitled, and pushing her travel agency.  Acted like they owned the ship and ordered staff around!  Travel Agency should have been called "Obnoxious!"

Chrisgp999…..Nice to see post on CC. Welcome.

On Meraviglia, there are only 3 cabanas.

You are going to have to ask for it.

On our first RS cruise, 2 of the cabanas had signs that said Reserved for

15011 or 15008. The third one has sign available for fee,see Concierge.

This time, November, we were in RS for B2B.

When checking out cabanas, all three had signs available for fee .

Concierge confirmed that all three could be reserved by other guests unless we let him which days we want to use a cabana.

“ which days this week do you want cabana.?”
“All of them, please.”

I guess on Port days, if going on excursion, they can to sell it to someone staying onboard.

He penciled us into reservation sheet each day. Had to do the same for the next week.

Note-

RS does not get a cabana on OC. That will run you about $500 extra.

if you have family or group of friends, that would be an option for OC.

Good pt. We’ve seen same problem, smoking in non smoking area…

did you report it to have them move to the other side of the glass wall?

I think you are right.  Luckily we didn't run into them at dinner.

No.  The group seemed to think they owned the place and it would only put staff in awkward spot.

So they continue to raise prices and reduce benefits?

I think it’s still a cabana per Royal

If royal are unoccupied they are rented which seems a good use since there is only 1 that’s not a RS cabana

They acted like they were MSC exec’s. Not sure how they can useMSC logo for their business. They set up 3rd cabana as a business office. Smoked cigars and played loud music.  Unpleasant individuals, ordered entire YC staff around including YC Director.

sorry, not sure why pic is upside down.

Oh, yes!  What a nightmare!  Lisa Yates of YC Travel!  As a TA for MSC's YC, she should know better.
