Is it still possible to put a hold on a cabin online?

 Don’t think so - but you can call and hold a cabin.

Ok thanks. Thats what i was thinking since i didnt see anything on the website.

 

if i put a hold on a cabin can i get my TA to finish the booking and get the credit?

Go ahead and finish the booking with Royal Caribbean and transfer it later. Anyone can transfer a Royal Caribbean cruise reservation to a travel agent as long as you are within 60 days of the initial booking.

From Royal's site:

 

Bookings may only be transferred to a Travel Advisor up until 30 days from creation if the request is made outside of Final Payment and the booking is not paid in full.

The changed it from 60 to 30.

Go directly to your TA (they can also hold a cabin) - skip RCI altogether - less chance of something screwing up.

And they will likely get you a longer hold than Royal.
