Equinox…just left yesterday 2/20/2022

We spent 9 days on the Equinox.   Upon our arrival on 2/11 the Captain welcomed us with the information that effectively immediately masks were not mandatory other than in the theater or casino.     Per the staff there were approximately 1400 guests.    On day 2 the Captain announced 1 person presented with COVID and was in quarantine.    NO OTHER cases among the guests or crew the remainder of the cruise.

The port of Grand Cayman was replaced with Jamaica.   Jamaica was then substituted with Bimini .    Bimini was small but very beautiful.  Bimini has only welcomed cruise ships in the last 5 months according to our local taxi driver.

Cruise staff was amazing.     They did absolutely everything to make this cruise exceptional.
Dining in Blu was very good.    We enjoyed Blu as much as we did the suite restaurant on our October cruise.  Ocean View Cafe offered a variety of lunches and guests are being served in the buffet by staff.

The internet situation was an area we were VERY disappointed with.    There are levels of connectivity that they now sell.   Even though we upgraded, cost was approximately $150 per person the service was spotty.    Maybe this is due to it being an older ship but it was not good.

Finally, as others have mentioned there are only 2 electrical outlets.     Woefully I adequate for the way we travel.

I love the Equinox, but agree with you about the wifi and the outlets. I always cruise with one of these adapters that turns the EU outlet into two additional US outlets and some USB ports:

We're due on Equinox later this year, and we're looking forward to it.  It's nice to hear that things are going so well right now.

I also agree about the outlets, and it's not just on Equinox.  I now travel with a large portable charger so that I have something at my bedside or that I can move around for convenience.

My phone sits in the safe…uses very little power that way.

Bride may charge her iPad now and then for reading..maybe her phone if we need it, but that’s rare on most trips.

Has anyone checked the telephones on S Class? I have read that phones on Edge class have a USB power port on them.

I didn't think power strips were allowed... am I mistaken? I thought they were considered fire hazards. Is there a reason that this type is okay?

Glad to hear Equinox review thank you!  We're sailing in June. 😀

I've always brought this multiport USB charger on board and never had an issue. The only consideration is the length of the USB cord and distance from plug to tabletop!  https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07XNSYJHQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

We did bring an adaptor with extra outlets as well as plug in for iPad.   There did not seem to be adequate power to charge one IPhone and one IPad.      Husband utilized one plug for his cpap throughout the night.

Retrofitting the older ships to accommodate iPads etc. hasn’t happened on the Equinox.     Maybe when cruises are back to full capacity the investment in connectivity will be improved.

We were on the same cruise and had a great time. Our friends had their luggage  taken to the ship jail for having an extension cord. They wonder why  they did not get their luggage.  After five hours the room attendant came up with it and said the security  took the extension cord out of their  luggage.

Happy to help! It has worked great for me so far! I now only bring the round adapter with the two round prongs, as that seems to be the type of outlet most/all cruise ships have. That weird hexagonal one with the two round prongs and the three prong one I leave at home, but I have hung onto them in case I every travel internationally outside of cruising.

Question?  We also still have Grand Cayman showing on our itinerary... when did you find out you wouldn't be going to Grand Cayman?  Pre-sailing or after you were underway?  Grand Cayman is scheduled to be our first port stop... which I don't think will be happening

We cruised once, several years ago, on Celebrity Summit, but usually sail on Holland.  We are considering the Equinox for a 6 night May 2022 Caribbean cruise, but have some questions that we can't find on Celebrity's web site.  Hope someone on this forum can help.

Is the Concierge class worth the extra $ over a regular balcony/veranda room. Different configuration?

Does Celebrity offer any laundry specials?  I found the per item prices, but hope there are special bag prices. (Spoiled by Hollands $49 per week unlimited laundry.)

Does the room service breakfast menu include a fruit plate?  Any charge for breakfast room service?

If there are no outlets next to the bed, how do CPAP users plug in the device since it seems that extension cords are banned?

I found a link on this forum with cabin descriptions and some pictures, but can't figure out how to find Equinox info without going through all the descriptions of cabins on other ships.  Is there an easier way to find reviews of Equinox cabins?

Any info or advise on Celebrity will be appreciated.

Can answer a few of your questions, though not all.

Concierge class is debatable. The main advantage I would see is cabin location, as many of the aft facing cabins are Conceirge.

I am unsure about laundry specials. The only time I had laundry done on Celebrity was on a B2B, because B2B passengers get a free bag of laundry at the start of their second leg.

Room service breakfast is free (as is room service any time) and I am sure you can get a fruit plate.

CPAP users can contact Celebrity ahead of sailing and can be provided an extension cord and distilled water for their CPAP machines.

used this one on previous cruises; is not a surge protector, so should be acceptable.

Is this still being done?  We were not offered free laundry on our B2B but we do get a free bag with our Elite benefits.

We received an email from Celebrity 2 days before sailing about the 1st change, Grand Cayman to Falmouth. On the cruise we found out we were going to Bimini instead of Falmouth.
