MSC Meraviglia Sold Out in YC for Christmas 2022?

MSC Meraviglia started pricing for Christmas 2022 (12/23-30) at the beginning of January 2022. I tried pricing the Christmas week in early March and YC1 is showing 0 availability, only room coming up on MSC website in YC is the duplex.

What do the experts on this group think? Is it truly sold out?  What are the chances that rooms in YC1 might become available again.

MSC Seascape was much higher in pricing for the same week in YC1 so I was watching Meraviglia but failed to put up a deposit on it in time.

For me, MSC site has...

THE SITE IS UNDER MAINTENANCE. WE WILL BE AVAILABLE AGAIN VERY SOON

...but looking on a popular T/A site shows availability for duplex, deluxe, and interior YC.

My guess is that there are still staterooms available for that week.

MSC site is down right now but I have checked multiple times since beginning of March and I do not see anything but duplex in YC, certainly no interior or deluxe.

Just to be clear I'm looking at 12/23 selling out of Orlando on MSC Meraviglia on a 7 day cruise.

Yes, I cannot list the agency but the info and staterooms that are available are shown.

This is without any discounts, not logged in, etc. I'm confident that anyone could get a lower price but there are over 2 dozen YC1 staterooms to select.

Wow, I'm so very confused. I literally just pulled 12/23 Meraviglia 7 day on MSC website and it still shows the same thing only availability is in the more expensive Duplex Suite. @Two Wheels Onlyis there a way for you to send me the website where you see this availability. My email is samapt0100@yahoo.com. Thank you!

I just did a mock booking; there are YC cabins available.  Lots and lots of them!

Thanks @morgansmomand @Two Wheels Only for your responses

OK, I think I figured out what was going on.

I was pricing for 3 Adults and 1 Child, when I do THAT none of these YC1 cabins show as available.

When I switch to pricing for 2 Adults I see what you guys all see i.e. lots of YC1 cabins that I can choose from.

Why would MSC do this, I do know that these cabins can hold our family, I have done it before half a dozen times.

Totally normal with MSC, you need to start with 2 adults only, then you see the cabins, then you need to add the child. Bingo, cabins still here. So easy 😉

I tried this and it did not work for me.

* Began with 2 people

* Selected YC1 cabin say 18009, had quote for 2 at the bottom

* Now clicked on the change occupants

* Changed 2 adults to 2 adults + 1 child

* Boom YC1 went away and now I can only book Duplex

Hmmm, wonder MSC would change occupancy on these cabins to higher than 2 at some point.

On other lines, I'd say lifeboat capacity likely reason.  On MSC, who knows.

Yes, I see that this trick does not work for YC cabins.

Probably really only a phonecall helps.
